The older I get the more I see through Chael. I like him, but I'm not impressed by anything he does anymore.

He is really good at making other people think that he knows what he's talking about. A total charismatic con man.
 
This isn't really geared towards us, we look at the sport much differently than the "fans," the ones who pay for fights and claim they train UFC and don't actually know much about the sport. Those people, being a bit ignorant, might have a different outlook on which fighter was better, down the line, than the one of the real fan who was there for it all and watched it all play out, and who understood details and situations that the noob or casual fan won't. We know that murderers row that Jones ran through before he'd even reached his prime, and where those individual opponents stood within their own careers, and how amazing a feat it was that Jones beat many of them effortlessly.

Jones will always be debatable as a GOAT on our end due to his piss pops, among other things, but even still, I wouldn't put Izzy in the same category as Jones when comparing anything. I can't stand Jones, but I won't remember him as having been a scrub, by any means, and despite the failed tests and other things. But I can see where Chael is coming from. Izzy has done a LOT in the UFC in a relatively short amount of time (as did Jones), but has also not had all of the extracurricular shit going on, suspensions and time away, and has looked mostly stellar with a fan friendly style akin to Anderson Silva. The current gen of noobs and casuals might believe what they see and hear, and what they see is Izzy fighting and not sitting out for 3 years during a critical phase of his career due to a supposed contract dispute. And with the UFC no doubt inevitably switching gears once Jones retires, and likely giving Izzy his spot as the "greatest ever," I don't think what Chael says here is so far fetched.
 
Jones will forever be balls deep in Chael’s mind, same as DC. Stay salty and free from the sidelines while Jones continues to fight after finishing both these retired chumps

The same reason why they make excuses for his resume of old fighters, damaged fighters, blown up middleweights, actual middleweights, robberies, and dozens of fouls, becuase they’re fanboys
 
The interesting thing about Chael is that he's equally likely to be insightful and nuanced as he is to be wildly nonsensical. It's not that he has a preference for honesty or deceit, he just goes with whichever is more provocative and likely to drive views.

Chael Sonnen has been a professional bullshitter for the last 15 years. It used to be entertaining but it's just annoying now that he pretends to be some kind of analyst. Only casuals and low-IQ fans take him seriously. The words that come out of his mouth are utterly devoid of sincerity even when he happens to end up right.

I have a lot respect towards Adesanya for what he's achieved in the octagon, but let's be real, he's nowhere near Jones' legacy. Adesanya's got a 13-2 UFC record with 8 title wins, while Jones boasts a 21-1 1NC UFC record with 15 title wins. It's just not on the same level. If Adesanya pulls off 7 more wins and takes the LHW belt, then we can start having a this discussion.
 
chael just talks stuff for clicks. a lot of what he says makes no sense, so long as he gets viewers. people who normally talk as quick as chael, sound like swindlers. just trying to get one over you.

To be fair, so has Jon, Jon has also had a not only HOF run, but GOAT run BEFORE his 1st failure. And besides Silva nuthuggers give Silva a pass for failing multiple USADA tests(hell, even his very first random), AND Silva has double digit losses, and losses to guys below his weight classes, and with literally losing records, yet some have him above Jon because of Jon's failures?!?(hell some even have Silva as #1 MMA GOAT, LOL!<45>).

Where as Jon has had a HOF/GOAT worthy career PRE AND POST USADA failures.

Trust me, I use to be VERY outspoken about PED busts because I was a GSP is MMA GOAT nut hugger(still my #1b!:p:cool:), but tbh, even WITH Jones USADA history, I just simply cannot deny him being MMA GOAT anymore. Especially as HW champ, because I'm not like these fickle bandwagoners who say Cyril was an "easy match up" just because Jon dispatched him so easily, Cyril was the legitimate #1-2 HW, and was who people were WANTING him to fight(because Francis just absolutely wouldn't re-sign the new contract, if not allowed to box). They're pretty much the same people who thought Bisping would beat GSP when that fight happened, but since GSP finished him, it magically an easy cherry pick(even tho GSP was originally slated for Woodley, which everyone knows GSP would have dominated him too).

Its ALWAYS a "Damned if you do, and damned if you don't" with Sherdoggers, its actually kinda embarrassingly stupid. EVERYTIME a fighter foes with opponent A vs opponent B, it's because they're ducking opponent B, yet if that fighter chose opponent B, people would say they're ducking opponent A. The fighter in question simply can NEVER win, no matter what.

Just like now with retirement rumors, people are bitching that Jones is scared, even though Jon has literally beaten every single motherfucker in front of him, more legends in his resume that ANY fighter in history, most title fight wins EVER, UNDEFEATED, TWO divisions champion of the highest weight classes, where a single punch can derail everything, and GOAT of LHW, which was the premier weight class for the longest.

Its absurd, and this is coming from someone (while I never hated him) that did not have him as #1 GOAT, but its basically un-debatable now, or at least I have yet to read an unbiased, logical, rationally articulated & reasonable counter argument for it.

Sonnen is a cool guy, but this "let's say the most outrageous crap to generate clicks" has become tiresome.
