Or you could look more closely and realize the software isn't as flawed as you might think at first glance.

If you look at the "All Time" rankings you'll see that Fedor is #1 HW ever and #4 GOAT contender. Nobody is saying Chael's career at HW is anything remotely close to Fedor's.

What they're saying is that if you stuck the two of them in a cage together at HW - Chael would probably win. And from what I've seen lately - it's not an unlikely outcome.

Strength of schedule matters and having some math to back up the rankings isn't a bad thing.

You have to understand that making an accurate algorithm for something as complex as comparing past and present fights is close to impossible. So many things to take into consideration...

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but silly ass results pop up from time to time, Chael being above Fedor in HW rankings is one of them.

The mental gymnastics you would have to perform to justify that...

And I don't see how Chael beats Fedor, any version of Fedor.

Chael is not a good striker, not by a long shot, and he sure as hell won't outmuscle Fedor and take him to the ground. And even if he does, then what ? He'll submit Fedor ?

Dan Henderson- Fedor got pushed against the cage and kneed 100 times, then he knocked Henderson down then Hendo did beautiful single leg and got Fedors back and KO'd him.

Antonio Big Foot Silva- Took Fedor down and pummeled into oblivion.

This rankings just means that Chael Sonnen is fighting well ranked people that were great back then, but now sucks. Smart guy.

Honestly I have no idea how the Polish guy is but I agree. They would kill Sonnen.


I want to see Pavlovich fight in the UFC!!! We need more heavyweights there.

His chin is suspect but other than that he's as promising as anyone outside UFC, including Pavlovich or Goltsov, he's a killer and very well rounded. Has power, good grappling, great TDD and is a very big guy, 6'6 i think
