Khamzat couldn't make 170 with a full training camp but you expect top 10 middleweights to make 185 on 10 days notice?
If they want a title? Yes! They could have jumped the line: high risk high reward. But I don’t blame em, I can see their reasons to turn it down, but this was gonna fast track em to a title, instead of the long process to earn and selling it.
I guess they and their coaches felt 10 days isn’t enough to prepare especially for a guy like khamzat.
Isn't the point of what Chael said that all top MWs knew beating Khamzat would earn them a title shot? And that it was well known for a long time, hence he isn't talking specifically about them saying NO with 10 days notice.
Maybe use Costa as an example of weight cuts. Khamzat always made weight aside from the one time the ufc told him not to so he can fight HollandForgot preparing. It's literally impossible for most of them. Again, you're asking them to do something that Khamzat himself couldn't do with a full training camp.
It straight up wouldn't. Chael is acting like the rewards would be symmetrical, but this was CLEARLY a case of "Khamzat gets a title with a win.. If you win...idk you'll fight.. Hermansson? Cannonier at best?"As usual Sonnen is talking out his ass, there was no reason for MWs to think that beating unranked at MW Khamzat would get them a title shot.
