The Higgs field certainly seems to have been borne out; in any event something is doing the job of the Higgs.

That's literally all it takes. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved.

Hang on a sec. I believe Jesus Christ existed and was crucified. His death was documented by the Romans. Does that mean I'm saved?

If you believe he was virgin born, lived a sinless life, and in our place went to hell for our sins then yes you would. A lot of people believe Jesus existed, in which there is many proof he did. The problem with most is believing in God because no one has ever seen God. Therefore they can't or choose not to believe in Christ his Son.

That would be my guess as to why some don't believe. Why don't you believe? We are born into sin which is evident as a child. If there wasn't really a God, then why do we sin? The bible clearly tells us that we sinned against God and so have loss total separation from him. Hence why we can't seem Him. Christ paid our debt and now through him we can be with God.

Damn, I got slayed before the first sentence was over. I don't believe virgins can give birth. It isn't possible. I also agree with the linguistic scholars who laugh at the concept of accurately translating Aramaic into English. The bible clearly tells us nothing. It's open to interpretation at the very least.

I'll take my chances burning in the fires of hell. Even though the original scriptures don't mention or even imply that there is fire in hell.
 
People underestimate what the scientists at CERN really want to do. Its not just that they want to smash atoms and discover new particles which is the widely held believe of what is happening. They also want to discover other dimensions and even open a window or doorway to other dimensions.

Here is a Reuters story about that very thing from way back in 2010.

Here is a video of a CERN scientist pinpointing 2015 as a time when something special might happen. They are very much wanting to open a window into another reality and there is quite a bit of evidence for it.



Disclaimer: I have no idea if they can actually do it, the science is above my pay grade but do not assume this talk of other dimensions is just internet hoax. The scientists themselves say CERN is looking for this sort of thing.

Troll? Why? It's a honest question. You always see religious people claiming that science is full of it when it goes against how their preacher interpret the bible for them. TS believes that the scientists behind cern are capable of actually doing what is only possible using the science that goes against how the bible says creation happened.

A lot of people (not just religious people) only hear what they want to hear because it fits their ideologies. Some religious people pick and choose which parts of science to believe. If it's what they want to hear- It's proven. It's SCIENCE and science doesn't lie. If it's not what they want to hear - It's rubbish, and they disregard it. The exact same way they do with the bible.

This isn't just religious people. We all do it or at least have done it to some extent.

maybe that'll trigger the "rapture", and save this planet and normal people from those religious whackos who believe in that crap since they'll be "raptured" away.

or at the very least, open up a portal so that man eating dinosaurs can once again roam the earth.

I didn't think that was actually their symbol so i looked it up, sure enough it is and it absolutely represents 666.

It's the biggest microscope in existence, that's really all it is.
It's not going to "open up the gates" of anything.
They have found a particle matching the expected properties of the Higgs at 125 GeV.
That by itself is so exciting that anyone who understands the previous sentence should be thrilled with the success of the LHC.
 
CERN scientists absolutely believe the science is there to prove other dimensions. They are now operating at 13TEV which is a shit ton of energy. The director of research at CERN, Sergio Bertolucci, has been quoted as saying they may be able to open a door where something could come through or go out. Here is a CERN article discussing the possibility of other dimensions.

Yes they want to smash atoms and discover new particles but IMO, that is not the big experiment. The big experiment is to find alternate dimensions.
