Cell phone advice

So I've got a Galaxy s4 that I bought new like 2 years ago. .. yeh I know it's a 5 year old phone.

I've been using straight talk for the last few years and it's fkn awesome. 45 per month automatically deducted for unlimited everything. ... no hassles no bullshit.

Well I've run into a couple issues. I just got a new fitbit ionic smart watch as a gift and my pos phone won't sync with it.
Second. ..For some unknown reason I no longer get good reception at work. ... For years I had great data there and now it's a dead zone.

So I think i need to make a move but I hate buying new shit when what I have works.

I need a phone that will run off straight talks Verizon towers instead of att I currently run and something new enough that it has seem less blue tooth.

Any suggestions tech nerds?

I just talked to straight talk customer service and they are criminally retarded. Like, no fkn clue what they are doing.

Chooch tells me If I want Verizon towers I basically need an iPhone. 5s...6s...7...etc.

He said the note 2 would work but I need a newish phone to make sure it works with shitbit

Consumer Cellular is very cheap and uses AT&T and T-Mobile networks. I think you'd need a different phone to make use of Verizon.

I’ve been an Apple die hard for forever and still consider it the best ever

However lately it seems really slow regarding internet browsing.

Like obnoxious levels of loading times. On a grandfathered unlimited data from Verizon.

Never had any problems until maybe past month.

Messed with an s8 on Comcast cell phone towers which to my understanding mooch off Verizon towers while I was picking up cable boxes and it blew the doors off my phone confirming two things.... one there def is a big screwing with Apple speeds....

And 2 it’s finally time to seriously look at and consider a Samsung phone.

Thanks alot it looked promising but didn't work in the end. There's a small blue box that constantly pops up saying "bluetooth share has stopped".
From what I've read it's a common issue with the s4. Considering getting the s6 but gotta make sure it doesn't have same issues.

I've always been an android guy although my work phone is an iPhone....I really don't like apple products. For one, like you said they fuck you over to force you to buy a new phone with a few shitty features idgaf about. Also I use the I heart radio app alot and I don't think it runs on Apple. ... could be wrong.

I have to be honest, I kind of hate smartphones. I'm always underwhelmed by it and hate spending money on something I'm not that excited about. The only phone I had and really enjoyed was the Nexus 4, maybe I should ditch my Iphone and start using it again.

Apple has always worked and been improving.

Yet I feel lately the phone is like iPhone 5 speed

And even next to the iPhone right next to the Samsung at the Comcast store

It was night and day faster screen was better etc.

Buy the google pixel 2 XL from google and use their google fi service instead of verizon.

Google fi is like 25 per month for unlimited talk and text. Plus $10 per GB of data. Doesn't work for everyone, because some people use a ton of data, but for me, I'm always at home or at work and I have wifi in both places, so it saves me a ton of money.

Plus the coverage is great. They use 3 networks--Sprint, T-mobile, and US cellular. Your phone will jump on whichever network has the strongest signal. It works great.

Not to mention the phone itself is awesome. Fastest phone ever. Best phone camera ever. If you don't believe me then believe Leo Laporte, the tech guy. It's his favorite phone too.

AFAIK, Straight Talk used to be straight T-mobile so reception and everything was good. Then Trac-Fone bought them out a year ago and everything, reception and customer service, sucks now.

I know two people that got rid of their iPhones for Pixel 2 recently. They're both very happy with it.

I have a pixel 1. Didn't want to spend over 800aud.
Love it so far.
Upgraded from Samsung s5. Usage wise it's pretty similar.
