Catch Wrestling and Sambo

Lebell/ and Gokor teach a combo of Sambo, Classic Judo, Submission wrestling, they know alot of different nasty submissions, chokes, armsbars, heel hooks, leg locks etc. Both of these spent their entire competitive careers doing full contact no holds barred combat, Vale Tudo style stuff. Gokor was a Russian and Amrenian Sambo and Judo champ, so that means he's bad ass. Lebell was a National Judo champ, and former professional Submission wrestler. If you wanna know if their students are succesful ask anyone who's fought Paryisian in the UFC

Lebell, of course, was first taught by Ed LEwis, perhaps the greatest catch-wrestler of all. Lebell proceeded to put Lewis' lessons to work in hsi judo competitions and...got thrown out of alot of tounaments.

It's actually Gene-Jitsu, where every technique is basically an entry into the rear naked choke, Gene style.
Just kidding. Gene is legendary, and has a fairly diverse game.
Sambo is great, but finding quality instruction is always a problem with that art. Even so, Gokor is the man to train under in the 'states, given his recognition and accomplishments in the sport.

You got his name partially right, it's Ed "The Strangler" Lewis. All around old time bad mofo

It's said that in Lewis' time, he couldn't be beaten at the Catch Wrestling game. He's famous for throwing a match that pretty much started the strong movement of works in wrestling. Even still, everyone respects him for how good he supposedly was.
