Cat Lovers Get In Here

TBH - I didn't read your OP post . This was a rare instance when that was required here. Doesn't change my thoughts on cats but I definitley wouldn't of responded like that or at all. So appologies for being a total douche instead of just a fraction of douche.

Sorry for my super emotional response.

Sweet babies. Hold em’ close my friend.
So much love to you and I'm so sorry you had this happen. You did the decent thing, friend. Putting two cats to sleep was extremely horrendous growing up but putting them out of their misery is the kindest thing we can do for them. Lots of love x

16 is a good run brother. Doesn’t make it any easier. I know you’ll make the right decision when the time comes. We have an obligation to not let them suffer. At least, that’s how I see it. Cheers to you and yours.
Yeah, 16 is not a bad run. Losing them young is brutal but after 16 years they have become a part of so much of your life though. I'm not ready to say goodbye.

Very sorry for your loss. My 16 year old cat is starting to have irreversible health issues and I'm dreading what's coming.
When our 19 year old had to go, she knew she was loved so much, we got her from a stray living in our car engine.
My dad got posted to Germany and we stayed in England because we didn't want to put Sooty through quarantine.

Lots of love, when you make the decision, do what's best for kitty x

rip kitty. nothing is worst then losing a pet especially one youve had many years ive lost so many damn pets over the years it sometimes makes me not want to have any more pets and yet i still have new pets just bought home a new kitten the other day.

That’s too bad. At only 2 years old? Must have been genetic.

The worst part about having pets is that you outlive them. Unless you get a desert tortoise or something. But they don’t make very good pets.

Hate these threads as they make me teary eyed, wish I could say something that would help. You gave the lil guy a good life and had a great time and memories with him so thank you for that <3

Animals > People

Im so sorry you lost such an awesome friend/family member.

My best bro in the entire universe, best friend Ive ever had, is 17 years old. the thought of losing him keeps me up at night.

Put my cat down three weeks ago today.. was the worst thing I have ever done . still hurts bad.

Yea your cat is looking for her brother .. or he came back to visit her . I swear I saw or heard my cat a few times the first few days after he left this earth…I still do sometimes.. they do come back to check on everyone and wouldn’t be surprised if your other cat sees him as well.
I believe it. I knew a guy who told me he had a cat who had leukemia, he cared for it and did what he could but it passed. He says he was walking near his home I think, may have been his backyard and he saw a flash. He asked his girlfriend, "did you see that" and turned to look at her but she was booking it. He believed it was the cat.

Cats do form bonds, I once had two rescue cats, one died and the other just seemed to give up on living and will itself to die which it did not long after.

I knew a dude who had a bird that was supposed to live to like a 100. He said in some newspaper interview "he'll be here when we're all dead and gone". This man passed last summer, I wonder what happened to the poor bird.

My brother is fat as hell, I don't think he'll live much longer. He just adopted another cat, I'm gonna chew his ass when I see him. He can hardly take care of himself and it's not gonna feel good if he dies and the cats have nowhere to go. This fucker also is cheap and he's let a few cats suffer and not put them down, just let them suffer and die. Pisses me off. I can't do so much, I can't even get to his front door very easily because he lives in one of those fucked up public housing apartments where they won't let you in if they can't get ahold of the tenant, which happens.

Yea those African Grey parrots live hella long. You might have to just steal your bro's cat lol.

I'm so sorry to read about your loss. We used to have sister and brother cats. The two of them got along great most of the time. Unfortunately the female kitty developed heart problems and passed away last year.

It was kind of funny in a way in that when the cats were separated the female cat would search for her male brother. She would cry and cry for him. If he was in a room with the door closed she would go to the door and cry loudly till the door was opened so she could be with her brother. The brother on the other hand never showed much care about his sister when separated.

There was only one notable instance where he came to his sister rescue. A neighbor had brought over his small dog. the dog was smaller than the cats. And the dog loudly chased the female cat down stairs. Now the male cat has traditionally been a scardy cat. He hides when any danger appears. He is a big believer in stranger danger as i'll joke with others. Not this time though. When the neighbors dog chased after his sister he chased after the dog. Thankfully we were able to get ahead of the dog before anything bad happened to him.
