Casino is better than Goodfellas

Love both movies but yeah, I do prefer Casino. Sharon Stone's character and perfomance is WAY stronger than Lorraine Bracco's and I've also never been the biggest Ray Liotta fan.
 
I'll never understand the love for Stone's performance. Coke whore trophy wife really isn't a difficult acting stretch.
I hated that film in the theater because she was so fucking screechy and annoying.

Wait, wut?

Either she's the greatest actress in history or the biggest cunt IRL. It's one or the other --- that's how 'good' she was in Casino.
 
I didn't even like Casino. Goodfellas is the best movie ever made though.
 
I agree with OP - I've always felt Good Fellas was good but overrated.
 
Both are very good films. Goodfellas is objectively a strong film as it's much better paced, has a better story, and stronger performances. I am very, very desensitized to violence but there are 2 scenes in Casino that I struggle to watch.
 
I just rewatched it and I can’t say I agree.
 
Goodfellas and it's not even close... on a technical film standpoint, it changed the way films were shot and edited.. really is no comparison. It's damn near as perfect of a film as one can get.

To be fair though her character is also far more important to the film.
 
Casino is good but Goodfellas is the all time best mobster movie...imo
Yeah, i prefer Goodfellas even over The Godfather!
 
I've always thought Casino was better, but I'm a big fan of both movies. To me, Casino is more epic and original. Goodfellas, as good as it was, is more of a typical mob movie. Casino comes with an angle we hadn't seen before.

I feel like the characters and the setting and the plot are more original. Joe Pesci's character is more interesting and he gives a better performance. Sharon Stone and her character are superior to Lorraine Bracco and her character. De Niro also played a different type of character.

Bracco's character, to me, is background. She's a a tough guy's bitch pretty much. She's a secondary character, despite being in the movie fairly often. Goodfellas is all about the guys, and secondarily the women who are in their lives.

Sharon Stone's character is "one of the guys" in Casino.
