I'm not going to link all the places I've been seeing this but its something I've been seeing all over the place when i look up stuff about good cardio exercises. Too much cardio makes you store more fat for energy or something? Is this true?

Pretty much all i do is cardio, walk for like an hour after work and listen to music, then i skateboard (just got back into this) for maybe 30 min, then later on i might go for a light jog if my roommate is up for it, or a bike ride.

Also on the weekends I've been doing paddle boarding when i visit my little bros which is super fun.

But is doing just cardio bad? I've been losing a fair amount of weight this summer so i call bullshit on this.

"It's True. Too Much Cardio Can Slow Weight Loss! A variety of new studies are showing that cardio can not only sabotage your weightloss goals, but can hinder your body from burning fat! According to The Denver Post, if you WANT to gain weight, then a treadmill is where youshould turn!"

(i hate treadmills btw i never use them i prefer to run outside)

Any fast food joints that make you lose weight?

Unless you find yourself inexplicably gaining fat, why would you even consider giving cardio=fat any credence?

Cardio is not bad. But imo you need to add some resistance training to see better results and prepare your body for old age. Haha.

You should mix up your exercises.

Doing nothing but one kind of cardio (running for example) and you'll hit diminishing returns quickly.

Cardio increasing fat sounds like rubbish though.

I'm not one of those people who believes everything they read, BUT I am guilty of some things i read making me second guess sometimes, i tend to over think things instead of just going with whats immediately logical lol.

Yeah that's why i started with the paddle boarding it seems like its good for my arms and upper body (i kneel mostly instead of stand because i have shit balance)

And yeah I've always just enjoyed jogging for some reason, i really love to shoot hoops also just gets boring by yourself. Me and my buddy played a lot of 1 on 1 last summer which was a great workout but he's busy with his kids this year.

There is a logic to the notion of the body using energy more efficiently with lots of cardio training (thus not burning fat cells as rapidly) but the thing is, you would only get to that point by doing lots of cardio and burning lots of fat in the first place.

You're still way better off doing that cardio and burning all that fat. This sounds like something fat people would focus on in order to talk themselves out of doing cardio.

Consuming more calories then your body needs makes you fat. Shit ain't rocket science.

That's just something fat people like to tell themselves

That's kinda what i thought at first too.

i bike-ride for cardio, and my cardio is pretty damn good. but then i bike-ride 35 miles every saturday within three hours, so i'm pushing myself for sure.

damn 35 miles is pretty solid. There is a lake near me its about a mile away, and its about a 5k around it so i bike there, around it then home. I don't really have any good trails or anything near me unfortunately.
