CAPTAIN MARVEL v.2 (First Critics Reviews)

It's not like we waited until last year to judge the MCU. We've been judging it every step of the way and we'll judge it at every step for the next 10 years.

They will rework things based on how the fans receive each movie. I'm sure the approach for Thor 3 was heavily influenced by Thor 2 not doing well, critically. If something isn't working out after 1-2 movies, they aren't going to wait years down the line to address it. They'll have to do it soon after.

For sure dude, and if Captain Marvel isnt going as planned as being the next great face of MCU I won't be suprised if they completely nix her and replace her with another Hero as MCU's face instead.

I truly believe if it had to come down too fitting with the agenda or the fans, Kevin Feige would do it for the fans.

Its pretty similar to when iron man was introduced.

Not alot of ppl thought iron man would be the great face of MCU or how successful MCU would be. Myself included. I didnt even care to be honest and thought it would be a generic one off.

Boy was I completely wrong

No one was thinking about the MCU when the first Iron Man movie was released. By definition, you couldn't have a Marvel Cinematic Universe when they'd only released a single movie. Yeah, we had the Nick Fury after trailer scene, but if you'd told us that Iron Man would be the start of a franchise that has produced over twenty films and made Billions of dollars, no one would have believed you. One of the reasons Marvel chose Iron Man in the first place was that, hard to believe as it is now, he was a B-List Superhero. So they weren't taking a major risk with one of the better-known characters.

But RDJ killed it of course, and the rest is history.

Ronda-esque in her boxing, bent wrist ftw. Anyway the trailer looks pretty run of the mill, hard to tell if the actress has the charisma to lift this movie.
yeah the punch was pretty terrible.

Damn don't fuck up Endgame plssss!!!

For sure which is why fans of mcu or in general should not assume the worse when a new hero is introduced (in this case cap marvel) especially knowing the success of MCU the last 10 years.

Fans aren't assuming the worst just because she was introduced. They are reacting to specific things said about that character. Do you know what they are and why people aren't receptive to the idea?

Iron Man, Guardians, Wonder Woman Suicide Squad, Aquaman, Ant Man, Black Panther, all got fan outrage before box office and fan success. It is almost more normal than not.

I'm wondering, with the FF rights back safely where they belong, will we see Super Skrull?
Any word on that @Dragonlordxxxxx?
I think we will definitely see Super Skrull in the MCU. I just hope they are patient enough to introduce the Fantastic Four first before debuting Super Skrull because they could come up with a quasi version of Super Skrull without a connection to the F4. A big part of the Super Skrull's look is the physical manifestation of the F4's powers.

For some reason I got advanced tickets to this without knowing a damn thing, and I don't do that for superhero movies. Finally saw her powers in a trailer the other day in the theater, and now I'm in. I had no clue what she was about.

New tv spot. Aimed squarely at the patriarchy. Lol.

"I'm kinda done with you telling me what I can't do". Oh damn.

I'm a bit disturbed by the messages of empowerment being commandeered by megacorporations to sell products. I'm a bit shocked at the raw enthusiasm about it, particularly from many students I see, given their thoughts on capitalism and neoliberalism, as messages they are enthusiastic about become vehicles for advancing the interests of the manifestations of a system they claim to vehemently hate.

If ten or twenty years from now misogyny makes a big overt comeback, or religious extremism becomes a major part of society again and many people start believing women belong in the home, Disney will start making movies that reflect that attitude, not push what they are pushing now. It's not about the message and how much the message means to Disney - it's about how many people are willing to buy the message, and it always has been.

This moobie is almost here guys

I just hope it's a good moobie

It will do really well because Disney is papering the opening numbers with theater buyouts across the country bringing in little girls. They did this same thing with Black Panther. There's little organic interest in this movie.

They have a built-in excuse if their movie doesn't do well. If it is critically panned, it couldn't possibly be because the movie was bad. It's obviously the patriarchy.

There's a vague undertone of a threat, to every movie reviewer - Approve of this movie or you're sexist/misogynist/hatewomen.

I don't recall seeing anything like this, so openly, about Black Panther last year. Activists must have had more faith it was a good movie.

Disney is pushing captain marvel HARD, on the Disney cartoon channel they have her in thier screen intro deal between shows ALOT I’ve noticed as my kid watches cartoons.
