Wahhh she's not showing any skin, how am I supposed to enjoy myself? Wahhh she should look more like her comic book character even though that would look cheesy as fuck.

Quit your crying, go get laid or go watch porn. Nobody cares about your need to touch yourself while you watch movies.

It was only after this discussion (of the last few pages) I realized I no longer imaginary cast or judge a movie with a "would smash / would not smash" as a criterion. Sure, I think Yvonne would be a better fit for Cap Marvel, and is IMO more attractive, but Larson's sex-appeal or (as some insinuate) lack of it, has nothing to do with what I think of the movie (or the official still images they issued so far). Likewise, I sincerely dislike Charlize Theron, but i think she did a solid job in Mad Max.

Is it possible? Am I.... growing up?

I think some guys are blowing off a lot of steam. The byproduct unfortunately is they think they don't care how they look, and since the point is to momentarily indulge a cavalier attitude it can snowball out of hand. I'm sure they're not serious. But who knows.

Really this seems to be a feed though of a debate about the characters image from the comics that's been happening for years added to by some talk that pushes certain peoples buttons.

You look at the MCU and really how many female characters have been overtly "sexy"? really only Black Widow comes to mind and that obviously a big part of her nature, maybe Hela as well playing up a kind of space dominatrix role. Yet the films have still obviously been very successful.

Scarlet Witch has been pretty big titty for no reason, but Marvel is going for nerd sexy more than reg sexy. Hip hugging costumes and approachably cute.

I'm not 13 years old and think the world revolves around me. I can understand why Disney/Marvel would want to bring in new female viewers and make more money.

Grow the fuck up.

Hey, I don't mind Marvel pandering to Feminism. Equality and all that other crap in order to make bank. Just as long as I get a nice pair of tits to enjoy.

The only correct answer for this casting was Yvonne Strahovski. Brie Larson has the chops and will likely be good, but she's not the perfect fit.

Charlize Theron would have been a better cast than Yvonne, although I like her in that role too.

But you're not getting that though and it's been this way from the beginning of the MCU. Not to mention how out of place Captain Marvel would look next to everyone else wearing this..

Looks like a stripper. From their point, why the need to sexualize this? This isn't even about feminism or SJW's, it just looks way out of place considering how everyone else looks.

None of these movies have much cleavage or anything going on and in the end, that says nothing about how good or bad a movie is. It's a retarded thing to complain about at this point. It's fucking Disney.

Frank Cho, who created that MS. MARVEL cover, recently gained notoreity for having his WONDER WOMAN variant covers axed because of similar controversy around the same time eroticist Milo Manara got the same treatment for his SPIDERWOMAN.

You guys should check out the Manara thank-you image to Cho for his moral support. I seriously cannot post it here.

With comics you can ride the line between good taste and pandering fan-service much more loosely, so it's a gross exaggeration to cite comics images as befitting movie images. Frank Cho is not the person you want on your side to prove what is not indecent.

That looks more like something from Heavy Metal lol. Either way, the need for some people to see cleavage or for every woman to be wearing something sexy in these movies is stupid.

That's all of the problem, since Manara in the States is closely associated to that magazine. Aside from the back dimples, that image is the same or tamer than the countless of CROTCH FIRST shots of Spidey. Manara was able to coincide his own erotic tastes with canon-accurate posing, and got fucked for it.

Black Widow and Scarlet Witch manage to show some world class cleavage without rocking the spandex. No reason Captain Marvel can't give The Girls some air:):)

Equality and all that other crap...
You did, after all, always have a way with words.

Something about this sentence makes it appear so unbelievably cute and yet so unbelievable misogynist at the same time.

Not sayin' I have a problem with a nice set of tits to look at, i'm just sayin'.

Exactly.
Now, if Gamora and Scarlett Witch looked like this in the movies:

It would be a continuation.

As much as the 13 yo version of myself would resent me for saying this, MCU had a good idea. You can't actually have characters dressed like that in the movie. Ironically, BW is the dressed in the way most aligned with the comic books version.

My Wakandan:)

Of course you can't use exactly the same costumes in the MCU as the comics. That would be ridiculous. But that's no excuse for making Larson wear something just short of a burkha. Especially since she's incredibly difficult to injure, so it's not like she needs to wear body armour.

As I said, BW and SW wear costumes that look practical but still show a decent amount of cleavage. No reason CM can't do the same.

Nice spinal erectors. Nudge nudge. Know what I mean? Say no more, say no more.
