Infamous MAGA lawyer gets license yanked in New York​

"Kenneth Chesebro, an infamous legal ally of former President Donald Trump, has had his license to practice in New York suspended, Law & Crime reported on Thursday.

Chesebro was the architect of a secret memo that outlined the illegal "fake elector" scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election. He was charged in the Georgia election racketeering case and took a plea deal, alongside some of the other lawyers who helped Trump.


The rest of the case is currently tied up while Georgia courts review an ethics complaint against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

In announcing their decision, the Third Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court "pointed out on Thursday that Chesebro’s ability to practice law has been impacted in several states, for instance by receiving a temporary suspension in Massachusetts several months ago," according to the report."

Jon Schaffer, Iced Earth Guitarist and Jan. 6 Insurrectionist, Sentenced to Three Years Probation​

Musician and Oath Keepers "lifetime member" was among the first to breach the Capitol

"Jon Schaffer, the heavy metal guitarist and founding “lifetime member” of the Oath Keepers who was among the first to breach the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, has been sentenced to three years of probation and 120 hours of community service. He will also have to pay $1,000 in restitution and a $200 financial assessment.
The sentence for Schaffer, who accepted a plea deal in April 2021, is similar to what the government recommended earlier this month (The Department of Justice had asked him to pay $2,000 in restitution.)

In early October, federal prosecutors praised Schaffer’s “substantial” cooperation in the Jan. 6 investigation and recommended that he serve no time in prison. The Republic reports that they instead asked for Schaffer to receive three years of probation, including six months of house arrest, along with the previously stated restitution, fine, and community service. He provided information for other cases to the U.S. government and testified before a grand jury. The recommendation also follows a June Supreme Court ruling that limited prosecutors’ ability to charge Jan. 6 insurrectionists with obstruction and several delays to Schaffer’s sentencing date.



In November 2020, while walking in the Million MAGA March to protest the alleged voter fraud that allowed Joe Biden to win the presidency over Donald Trump, Schaffer spoke with the German news outlet Welt.

“My name is Jon Schaffer; I’m from Indiana,” he said in video from the interview that later surfaced online. “A group of thugs and criminals hijacked this country a long time ago. Now they’re making their big move, and it’s not going to happen. And that’s what it is. These are globalists. These are the scum of the Earth.… People need to wake up and snap out of the matrix, because they’re going down. They’ve made the move; they’re messing with the wrong people here, trust me on that.”

Fifty-two days later, Schaffer was one of the first insurrectionists to breach the Capitol."

Edward Kelley faced a separate prosecution for targeting federal agents while he was being investigated for his role in the Capitol attack.

A Tennessee man pardoned by President Trump in January for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol will nevertheless serve a life sentence for plotting to attack FBI agents and seeking to incite a "civil war," according to prosecutors.

Edward Kelley, who was the fourth U.S. Capitol rioter to enter the building on Jan. 6, 2021, faced a separate prosecution for targeting federal agents while he was being investigated for his role in the Capitol attack.

The Justice Department argued Kelley created a "kill list" of FBI agents and others who investigated his role in the Jan. 6 siege. Prosecutors said Kelley "distributed this list — along with videos containing images of certain FBI employees identified on the list — to a co-conspirator as part of his 'mission.'"

A jury convicted Kelley of conspiracy charges in November, and a federal judge in the Eastern District of Tennessee sentenced Kelley to life in prison on Tuesday.

Though Kelley was among the more than 1,500 Capitol riot defendants pardoned on January 20, 2025, the pardon did not extend to Kelley's conspiracy case in Tennessee. Last month, prosecutors argued, "Edward Kelley is remorseless and has shown neither a capacity nor desire to rehabilitate. On the contrary, Kelley not only believes the actions for which he was convicted were justified but that his duty as a self-styled 'patriot' compelled him to target East Tennessee law enforcement for assassination."
