Rumored Canelo’s $150M payday vs Crawford is bigger than the ENTIRE UFC roster combined ($140M) in 2025

Dana likes Boxing a lot more than MMA. He even wanted that slap BS to be more successful. He will pay his new Boxing puppet Callum Walsh better money than any UFC star probably.

I only pay 200.- a year for all events here in Switzerland. I canceled the subscription now and will stream again on my OTT android box. The fightpass app is fucking shit like its 2010 and they want people to watch boxing and don't care about putting on quality MMA events anymore.

In order for boxing to generate the kind of money it does, it must bring in a shit ton of viewers. That's what i don't get. Boxing usually seems boring to me.

The average schmo really prefers boxing?

I think amongst latinos boxing is still way bigger than MMA for example, Canelo fights on Mexican holidays are usually a very big deal.

Thats why all UFC fighters have to kiss the ring and bow to Dana and Trump and whomever else is at the Kings table while Canelo could speak his mind freely and put Dana in his place at the press conference.

How is it "what he's worth" if every event he's been on has lost tens of millions? The Saudis knew they were going to lose a ton of money, but the PFL can't even give him another fight without bankrupting the org.

He negotiated a deal on his projected worth at the time, looks like PFL overestimated it, but they have teams of business / marketing analysts - it’s on them.

The point is -

If UFC fighters think they are worth more money, they need to take a risk, make a bet on themselves and fight for it, just like king Francis (the legend) did.

Canelo is vastly overpaid. Boxing is a elitist sport only the 1% of boxers get that kind of pay. The rest get very little in comparison. It's not evenly distributed like in the UFC.

You won't see this in the UFC ever. It's ridiculous kind of pay. It's irrational.

Have time and read this.

How does it compare to the rest of the boxing roster, undercard fighters?

This is a ridiculous amount of money.. Im all for good pay, but if the UFC payed this kind of money we would see alot of early retirements. We see that even when fighters are getting 1 million+ they stsrt to turn into divas.
I don't know the solution, I know that people become disgustingly rich behind the scene, but that is how buisnesses work.. I guess? I think the UFC pay is pretty fair, I you make it to the top and get a few fights you are set for life, possibly the next generation of your family aswell. Ofcourse if you buy yachts, 5 houses, jewlery.. Just live a normal higher standard life and you will do great.
UFC are creating alot of millionaires, I do hope they up the pay some more just as casual workers should be payed more by companys... but I also know it will create problems, and 150 million is just..unrealistic for most, in any sport.

Canelo and Crawford made that much money. The UFC also makes hundreds of millions of dollars per year. Well now a billion plus each year with the TV deal.

Yes maybe the Saudis are overpaying for boxing right now but look at pre Saudi boxing involvement. That's the difference between fighters receiving a fair share of the money and the UFC taking most of it

The UFCs biggest star in the history of the sport had to go over to boxing and beg to get paid

This is why no top boxer in their prime will risk fighting in mma

Why try to be a jack of of all trades when you can be a master of one and paid much more. Granted this is for the highest earning boxers, but the rewards are substantially higher

Mma is a mickey mouse sport compared to how other elite athletes are paid. Conor made most if his fortune boxing floyd and that shitty whiskey

According to reports, Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez earned around $150 million for his Undisputed Championship fight against Terence Crawford.
Meanwhile, the entire UFC roster combined is estimated to make between $110 - 140 million in 2025.

Insane that one boxer’s payday is bigger than the whole UFC roster’s yearly pay.

What does this say about UFC fighter pay vs Boxing?

That’s absolutely horrible. Especially considering Saul stunk the joint out with his performance. Makes me wonder if he got any EXTRA cash somewhere else to tell you the truth…

It means if UFC did the same the money would go to Conor for the whitehouse event. I don't fucking care. Boxing doesn't distribute those giant paychecks to the whole card. Let me know when it does. A big number to Canelo or Crawford, doesn't mean all the other boxers take it home. Those numbers are bankrupting all the competition bidding for purses in the US so only middle east can cut the checks.

Money isn't everything, rather have a sustaining organization in MMA than imaginary payouts. Just wait when the Saudi's are done financing their marketing for Abu Dhabi. The ones who were feeding off it won't want much less, and it's going to be tons of sitting around when they aren't getting those unrealistic payouts. I'd rather have more grounded realistic numbers even if it means they are paid less.

that's obviously crazy high but you have to remember they only do this for one or two fighters a year, if that. i don't know the numbers but i'd assume that other boxers not named canelo get paid less than peanuts, so 150 million constitutes practically all they'll have to lay out annually or close to it. still a shitload of money though.

If you want boxing money then go box.

This is like McDonald's workers being mad that surgeons make more money.

Get a new job dumbass.

Do we know if this reported number for Canelo is accurate? From this article:

Exact payouts are unlikely to be revealed, as regulations that once required those numbers to be made public in Nevada have been changed, as they have been in many other states.

Crawford, however, claimed during a podcast appearance that he took the fight for just $10 million.

Nah it's BS.

He probably made more like $25m/$30m.

This article says Canelo is on a four fight deal with the Saudis worth $100m.

I don't know how you can get paid that much for a single fight but I guess in not privy to their financial books. You just have to think that it's unsustainable. 7 fights at $150M and you've made a billion dollars. What the actual fuck?

Canelo was way overpaid for this fight, he's not a needle mover or the biggest draw in boxing anymore, why paid that much ?
