People are acting as though restrictive healthcare measures were done for some evil means, rather than a response to the projected effects of a pandemic without enough healthcare resource to adequately address it.

I don't know what you think your example of a black inventor proves, but as far as I know no one is saying certain civilizations were not advancing because of their race, but because of the culture in the place they were born. Obviously you can take a child of any race, and bring him up in the right conditions, and you might get a genius. But if Lewis Latimer was born in an aboriginal village in the 1800's somewhere, then you most certainly would not get anything like you got from the version that was schooled in western society.
