Not for no reason. Everyone who was still protesting after being given multiple warnings was breaking the law. Everyone there should expect a certain level of force to be used. They were challenging the police, what the fuck did they think would happen?

Who cares. All this is a red herring. Violence to quell protests is normal, whether we like it or not.

Invoking emergency measures and seizing assets is above and beyond anything we've seen in the western world. It's all just a distraction tactic to draw attention away from the real problem. And that is the governments ability to shut down any and all future signs of disagreement coming from any quarter. The precedent has been set and only useful idiots are ok with it.

Someone opened fire on people protesting the killing of Amir Locke the other night, one dead five injured. Andy Ngo immediately tweeted that the shooter acted in self defense despite the fact the police have released no details and is already painting a far left conspiracy theory. There are a lot of people who are going to see that tweet and believe it's true no matter what comes out in the next few days. Truth doesn't matter any more, only being first.

People have provided a lot of evidence that the people behind the convoy shouldn't be trusted and pointed out their stated objective is almost certainly false. Rather than discuss those points you guys call us names and push forward, because all that matters is popularity with conservatives. I spent last night here trying to get anyone to concede that Pat King was dangerous and sending him money was a bad idea, and no one came close to acknowledging that. Unless the protester is violent, a cop should never be allowed to unload on someone like that.

Yes, of course it matters if she died.

Everyone in the area was given multiple warnings that it was time to leave. They stayed, meaning they assumed the risks involved with defying police orders. They are very lucky that no one was seriously hurt, and overall the police were extremely patient and gentle with them.

Pretending that the police were out of line just makes you guys seem completely out of touch with reality.

Have any of you ever seen an actual protest before? And how police handle those protesters?
