Most talented, high school age hockey players, are already being payed to play hockey.
Don't have time to play other sports. Most basketball, football players play other sports during the off-season, while in school.
Lol you sound upset.
I played ice hockey as a kid for fun. I could afford it but knew the athletes were questionable at best.
Hockey players focus solely on hockey because they suck at other sports.
You think Baseball, Football and Baseball aren't competitive down here?
The cream always rises to the top.

Why would I be upset that you're broke?
High school baseball, basketball, football players, don't get payed to play while in high school.
Hockey players do. The best players are already playing semi-pro, and if you're not good enough to get drafted by the time you're 18, your chances of playing pro are basically zilch. It's your primary focus, no other sport matters.
Don't understand why that's so difficult for you to understand.
Who wins in a fight Sidney Crosby or Mike Trout?
The cream certainly rises to the top. Thats why every major sport has a majority of owners that profit off their slaves. Hockey nah not really.
Not sure how anyone could legitimately name hockey players that would excel in another sport. It's a sport where people move around an ice surface with a blunt object directing a rubber disk into a net. The skills and attributes being used are unique enough that you can't relate them very well to other sports. Voted MLB.
You could easily make that an argument that baseball is less athletic using that fact. Baseball is so easy athletically comparitively that if you're at a high level at nfl/nba you can become a good baseball playerExhibit A- Jeff Samardzija would have been a 1st round NFL draft pick
Russell Wilson
Colin Kaepernick
Ricky Williams.
Would any NHL player be drafted for another sport?
Imagine if they let players fight in the NFL or NBA...
Very good point. They make the least amount of money. Their best are on par with the best of the UFC.
I've seen fights in the NBA, probably the most uncoordinated sissy slap fests imaginable.
Because it's not a sport it's a gimmick.
It's kind of like cricket or NASCAR.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_baseball_and_cricketBaseball and cricket are the best-known members of a family of related bat-and-ball games.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origins_of_baseballThe question of the origins of baseball has been the subject of debate and controversy for more than a century. Baseball and the other modern bat, ball and running games, cricket and rounders, were developed from earlier folk games in England.
