Canada restaurant blast: Bomb explosion injures 15 people in Mississauga as two suspects flee

More than a dozen people were injured when a bomb was detonated in a restaurant in Mississauga, a suburb of the Canadian city of Toronto.

At least 15 people were taken to the hospital after the blast at the Bombay Bhel restaurant on Thursday night. Three people had critical injuries, the Peel Regional Paramedic Service said in a tweet.

Police said the blast occurred just after 10:30 p.m when two suspects entered the restaurant and detonated an improvised explosive device.

A search was under way for the suspects, who fled the scene after the bombing.

Police posted a photograph on Twitter showing two people with dark zip-up hoodies walking into an establishment with one of them appearing to be carrying an object.

Both suspects were described as male and around 5 foot 10 to 6 feet tall with light skin. Their faces were covered during the attack.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Mississauga is n Lake Ontario about 20 miles west of Toronto.

WTF?? Had to be an issue with the restaurant itself, disgruntled ex employees maybe?

Seems like an odd place to target for terrorist reasoning as Indians / Hindu's are not on most hit list (cop may want to check out Ripwarriors posting history though) and that place gets a ton of white customers.

Specific and personal vendetta against the establishment seems more likely.

Crazy shit...hope the injuries aren't too serious and no idea who the hell could have done it. The only thing that's for certain is that it's not a lone wolf. Could be some kind of gangster shit perhaps or a personal beef? But seems pretty fuckin extreme for that. Hope they catch these fuckers quick. If this ends up being some terrorism/racist/incel/some other bullshit like that bombing then I just don't know wtf to say anymore.

Good question. COuld be random. Could be that they figured there would be a low chance of being caught.

One of the men was described as being around 6-feet tall in his 20s, with a "stocky build" and "light skin."
