And we're back!

Just dissolve this dogshit company already. Jesus fucking christ.

Just end it

Among the brilliant ideas to make this piece of shit function? How about a mail company that doesn't deliver the mail?

On Friday, a federally commissioned report on the 158-year-old institution highlighted its flagging business model and recommended foundational changes, including phasing out daily door-to-door letter mail delivery for individual residences while maintaining it for businesses.

In related news, I'm opening a new restaurant. To make things more efficient and reduce wait times, you order your food and pay for it, and then just leave. We don't cook it or serve it to you. Brilliant!

I agree that they're in the shit and striking is just beyond retarded, but the door to door thing is kind of a relic of the past, and probably should be phased out.

Just take away their crown corporation status and allow competitors. Same with the cable companies etc. Crown corps need to go, they're holding us back

Then why are they asking for 'gender affirming care?'

Why are they specifically asking for something if they don't actually want it?

No $hit, some POS guys from Canadia, born with no balls, now want taxpayer benefits to surgically remove something that never existed...

We haven’t seen door to door in my neck of the woods in 25 years.

When trying to save $7 goes wrong:

So in mid-April I was wanting to check out this Conan the Barbarian graphic novel series box set. Amazon had it for $115 Canadian while Blackwell’s (some UK based book company) had it for $108 Canadian. Amazon Prime would have delivered within a day, but I figured I was in no rush as I’ve been chipping away at anthology of all of the original Conan short stories that Robert E Howard wrote in the 1930s and wanted to finish that before really delving into these graphic novel adaptationsz

In any event, I ended up buying through Blackwell’s and now regret not buying from Amazon.

First, I placed the order on April 16th and still don’t have it. In following the tracking for whatever reason it went from Britain to Sweden for two weeks.

Second, had I waited a few weeks I could have got it from Amazon for $98 as the price dropped subsequently, so I could have got it for $10 cheaper than the Blackwell’s price.

Third, I got notification on Sunday that it had finally cleared Canadian customs and I’m going to have to pay $15 in duty. So much for trying to save $7, lol, fml.

Lastly, I have no idea when (or if) I’m going to receive it, as it’s in Mississauga and I’m in Edmonton, and has been passed off to Canada Post and unless I can miraculously get it by Thursday (unlikely) I’ll be waiting who knows how long once Canada Post goes on strike on Friday. If they don’t deliver it by Thursday who knows when or if I’ll get it as the risk of it getting lost because of the strike backlog is very high I suspect.

TL/DR: in trying to save $7 I’ll likely end up waiting months to get the box set and end up paying $25 more than had I waited a couple of weeks and ordered from Amazon, and that’s IF I ever get it thanks to the strike

"Lo barato sale caro" is a common phrase used by Spanish speakers which basically means "The cheap ends up being expensive".

I was hoping they would have worked something out these last six months. Canada Post burned through whatever goodwill they had left at Christmas. My family are a bunch of bleeding heart liberals and when you've lost us, it's time to pack it in!

No letters to and from Santa for my kids this past year was a knife to the heart for them.

Amazon exceeds. Jatinder will show up at your door in 6ft of snow to deliver a 10$ package. Canada post can't compete.

My favorite demand is this nebulous 'right to retire with dignity.' First off what does that mean, and second off why should you have the right to retire with dignity when you didn't live your lives with dignity?

Constantly striking and driving small businesses out of business isn't dignified behavior. Providing shitty customer service with a shitty attitude isn't dignified. Running your union like a mob extorting your employer and fucking your customers over constantly isn't dignified. Get fucked.

These people act like they're doing hard labour for minimum wage. They have great wages and benefits and their job is easy.

Speaking of constantly striking, how many times has Canada Post’s workers gone on strike. I’m 40 years old and I feel like this has to be at least roughly the 4th time I remember them going on strike in my lifetime. That seems like a lot, most unions don’t seem to go on strike anywhere near as often as Canada Post does.

Teachers, bro. All time champs.

I don’t think you realise that letters are the biggest reason they lose money. If they didn’t have to deliver letters they would automatically become profitable. They do services that nobody wants to do and are forced to. The same reason why they can’t partner with outside carriers and pay illegal wages

Do you ever make a positive post? Your whole life seems to revolve around complaining about everything and everyone.

You need to change your mindset.

Guess it depends on where. The teachers went on strike in Alberta in 2002. As far as I remember that was the only time in my lifetime, though there’s talk that they could again this year.
