Can You Throw a Curve Ball

Used to be able to drow 90+, dunk a basketball and throw a football 80 yards off a knee.

I never been into baseball but this dude ball is all over the place an still hitting the box. And made me realize I cant throw a curve. Can yall. Is it hard to learn.

Wow, be throws it better than every single pitcher in MLB.

Very impressive, and fake.

I have friends that can throw breaking pitches but I never could get much movement on the ball.

i played first but on the weekends a bunch of guys would come over and take turns pitching to me and i would catch for them.

With a wiffleball like that guy in the video? Absolutely

I pitched through high school, so yes, I can...not a great one though, I relied more on my fast ball...

I'm European so no one ever taught me how to throw shit. I grew up trying to kick a ball like Roberto Carlos

A real curve ball? Yes, but I can't guarantee it will land in the strike zone.

I could never get a break more than a few inches.

If I knew how to throw one I guess I could? Otherwise no.

i had a prime Zito esque curve in HS, but i also killed my elbow by throwing it too much

It's actually much easier to throw a simple slider, simply grip the baseball like normal (say two fingers in the center/top of the ball, connected), and then shit your wrist 90 degrees so your thumb and then two fingers are on opposite sides of the ball across the horizontal axis...

Throw it like normal, no wristbend or snap is required. The extra weight of your two fingers on that one side causes the ball to natural slide at the end, and you can still get great speed and placement on it.....

It's actually much harder, to me, to throw a convincing circle change or the hardest the screwball (opposite curve)

Knucklecurves are great too, using the inside finger as the knuckle and throw a normal breaking curve w/ the extended outer finger

There's also two easy ways to throw a legit 12-6 sinker...

You can either (the harder way) start a normal fast ball type motion and then rotate your wrist so that it ends up flicking down, palm up at the end adding that spin. Breaks insanely, but had to control.

Or the much easier, more akin to a changeup, is hold the ball w/ your hand along the bottom say gripping the lower stitching (if it's facing w/ the lace on top and bottom). Keep your thumb on one side and however many fingers on the other side, horizontally across and just throw it like a normal changeup, no breaking motion. The added weight/pull from the bottom of the ball w/ cause it to sink easily, and it's way easier to control and place....

Yes, and I'm sure I still can. I haven't tried in years, or even thought about it. I didn't pitch much because I couldn't get the ball over the plate consistently. Without trying, my fastball even had movement. I only threw a 4 seam, but again, I couldn't throw strikes. I would end up hitting kids left and right when my arm got tired.
