Can you be really shitty at shadow boxing and still be a good fighter?

if he sparred he would know the answer to his own question-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have 13 pro MMA fights lol....so yes I have sparred.
You know for once @spacetime makes a valid point. No that does not mean you dont have to show your sparring videos and bag videos, and yes you still have to send me the $50 you promised to send my cash app.

The OP hasn't been answering valid questions about what he thinks is wrong with his shadowboxing.
I just feel sluggish and its boring, I can never think of combos to do so I just repeat the same 2 or 3. I catch myslef in the mirror and just yell "Fuck I suck!" then just pick up the rope to skip to finish my warm up

lets see a video of you on the pads or bag or sparring and we will be able to gauge your skill level.

most people dont shadowbox more than a few rounds just for warm up
K off to train I'll train to get a quick video

So than watch some fighters pay attention to there combinations and shit. Try to be as creative as possible and as realistic as possible.

Shadows and bags don't fight back. How you do sparring is most important to me.

I have been training a long time though LOL. I don't feel like an idiot when I hit pads, just when I shadowbox. Do you guys think every top fighter spends a lot of time shadow boxing? Do you think theres top guys who don't work too much on it? I guess maybe in MMA there might be but probably not in boxing or kickboxing eh?
just curious what you're calling a long time...

funny seeing you talk about sparring

I know someone who looks clumsy when hitting the heavy bag, however in the ring he has no problem dismantling his opponents.

Not only for visualization, SB is best for footwork and balance.early on I didn't do much of it, but later on I did and it helped tremendously.

Fighting is a whole mixed bag, and at times so many factors can go to affecting your night. So yes, it's possible you could do well without it, but it's a great tool that's quite versatile

I was shadow boxing last night and saw the reflection of myself doing it and thought I looked like a fucking can that would intimidate no future opponent if they were watching. You see all these super impressive videos of fighters shadow boxing online and its really impressive but then you also see good strikers shadowboxing very nonchalantly when they do the pre fight thing surrounded by smoke in the UFC promos. My question is could you be a good fighter who looks like shit shadow boxing? how important is it? I remember James Toney saying in an interview all he did to train for fights was spar he hated shadow boxing and other kinds of training. How far will shitty shadow boxing take you?

Don't worry man. The better a fighter you become the better your shadow boxing will be. It will all develop with time

{<RR} ?

longest consecutive period of training?
Probably like 5 years when I first started, I was injury free minus a few minor things. Then I broke my ankle around the 5 year mark and didnt train for like 6 months. I was a pretty shitty striker when I started though, more of a ground guy, I feel like my striking has improved a lot since then, just not my shadow boxing.

So when you say that your shadow boxing sucks, you mean that it lacks imagination even after all this time...?
