Look at this supposedly "great" win streak. You compare this to Gaethje, Poirier of Khabib's recent records and its embarassing. So tell me again why Olives deserves to be mentioned in their category? Chandler has a stronger case IMO.

Tony Ferguson: I think everyone agrees he's washed and Olives picked the bones off the carcass that Gaethje already ate

Kevin Lee: Most overrated LW of all time probably, lost 3 of his last 4.

Nick Lentz: 3 fight losing skid, already lost to Islam Makachev before Olives got the sloppy seconds

Jared Gordon: lol, no comment

David Teymur: Dude hasn't fought in over 2 years.

I don't see him as a top-5 talent, I need to see more from him.
I just don't get why people consider him in the class of Poirier, Gaethje or Khabib:

Khabib: demolished Conor, Poirier, and Gaethje, and Barboza

Gaethje: demolished Tony, Cowboy, Barboza, had incredibly competitive fights with Poirier and Alvarez

Poirier: beat Conor, Holloway, Gaethje, Alvarez, Hooker

Oliveira: beat a washed Tony, thats literally IT

I agree with you in the point that LW is the deepest weight class from a purely stand up point of view but when it comes to reall mma then the LW is super shallow!

this is why average mma fighters with decent ground game as charles, islam and others before have such an incredible success. styles make fights and if you are a grappler somewhere around the LW, just go for it, you are most probably already top 15 even without a fight.

Thats still a decent streak, and keep in mind oliveria debuted in like 2010 i believe. So 4-5 years of ped fighting the last generation, and 5 years of winning post usada

I agree ts his best win is overrated Kevin Lee and super washed up Ferguson who got beat down badly by Justin the fight before anyways.

if you think he's the uncrowned champ, you're overrating him.

if you think he's a worthless chump, you're underrating him.

the fact is he's an awesome fighter who has made the necessary adjustments to his game to climb to the top of the division. he deserves to be mentioned with the other top players, including poirier and chandler.

Gaethje didn't demolish Tony, he gradually took over a fight that started out competitive, great win though. Oliveira dominated every second of their fight.

Tony is my favorite fighter of all time. The man crush I got for that dude is off the chain. However, he did get dismantled and dominated by Justin. It wasn’t close except for a brief knockdown at the end of the 2nd round. Justin won ever other moment of the fight essentially. It was brutal and painful to watch.

Stop it. Gaethje finished Tony and put him in the hospital. Olives decisioned Tony and Tony could've probably fought on another card the next week after fighting Olives.

His grappling is really good, I don’t think an overrated fighter would have handled Kevin Lee and Tony that way.

He's good because of his winstreak, same reason why Khabib's 29-0 Record Matters, the only elite guys Khabib beat were Conor, Poirer and Gaetje.

Khabib beat RDA 6 months before RDA became the LW champ lmao. Get outta here.

Both Tony and Khabib were beating quality opponents during their win streak. Olives has been beating bums.

Tony landed a single notable strike, which was the uppercut. Other than that it was a one sided beatdown.

-Teymur 5-0 before Oliveira apparently retired him. Should have been ranked top 15 if guys like Nate werent still ranked at the time.

-He destroyed Lentz like nobody else has including the likes of Chad Mendes & Islam. Lentz btw 10-5-1 at 155 lbs in the UFC.

-Whooped Lee, who didnt have staph & didnt even try to make 155, much more impressively than RDA & Tony. A Lee that was more technically sound than ever under Firas & had just smoked top 15 Gillespie.

-Dominated Tony everywhere, especially on the ground which is more impressive than outstriking him.

-Gordon & Giagos both have winning records in the UFC, not exactly bums.

-Did a lot better vs Brooks than Chandler, who everyone wants to see fight for the belt.

You can literally pick apart anyone's resume of you have enough hater in you.
