I love how TS makes a thread about the most subjective topic in the sport that fan's love to argue about and proceeds to complain about people arguing about it. And then presents an argument for why.

There's layers to this hypocrisy stuff.

Yeah it's getting out of hand. Soon as people started trying to claim Tyron Woodley was in the WW goat conversation I just usually immediately discredit anyone trying to claim someone a new goat out of the blue. It's basically just a meme title at this point with all the stooges now adays claiming chimaev as some sort of goat.

all great fighters have tough fights and face adversity and when they prevail you know they’re great.

Come on man. You went off the rails at that point. Can you name one 155lbs fighter who has a better record than Khabib? It's a stellar unmatched record. Jon Jones is up there, yes, but there's always gonna be a * PED asterisk next to his name as he HAS ACTUALLY failed multiple drug tests.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is right at the very top of any conversation as regards a Greatest To Ever Do It. (at any weight class).

What? That’s a consecutive UFC win streak chart. And yes, most of them are equally difficult. In UFC you mostly get higher ranked guy after each win, so it gets exponentially harder.

I don’t count win streaks outside of UFC. How can Poirier have a better resume at LW if he lost to Khabib and to a guy Khabib destroyed ( MJ)? And his longest streak at LW is 5 wins. And one interim title fight against a FW. Definitely better than Khabib, Lol

I deny it. I do consider him LW GOAT, so I guess that puts him in the overall GOAT conversation. But his resume—in terms of ranked wins, former champs beaten, and title defenses—is pretty weak. The fact that he went undefeated for 29 fights without even a scratch is super impressive, but resume-wise other divisional GOATS have him beat. Even if you take Jones and Anderson out of the conversation due to PEDs, Fedor, GSP, Mighty Mouse, and Aldo have better cases than Khabib I think.
 
That’s human nature, they want to believe that what they are seeing right now is the greatest thing ever , even more so they want to believe that what they missed in the past wasn’t that great so they don’t feel left out
