Can we admit Loma is P4P #1?

Already seeing the inevitable hater threads. Loma just made history to become a three weight champ in 12 fights. If he beats Pac and Mikey back to back they will still be hating and mimimizing his wins.

Lomachenko is #1 P4P and only Terrence Crawford is close. Flame on!

Yeah, it can be argued. He has a much stronger case now than he did before. He has probably separated himself a tad from the rest of the pack for the time being.

Like Jay said, it can be argued. There are some good arguments. Nobody might like it because he doesn't box like a scientist but Wangek has only lost a TD in the last eight years and his last three victories included the p4p #1 on a lot of lists (I would argue rightly), beating him brutally in a rematch, and JF Estrada who I think is one of the most criminally underrated boxers alive, who was on some good p4p top ten lists and I've seen several having him as an honorable mention guy, even if he didn't make the list. Wangek's record is incredible, no matter what you might think of some of the decisions. So, Loma, Crawford, Wangek, Golovkin, Inoue, Garcia, some tremendous talent up there to talk about.

GGG is undefeated as a pro, Canelo has arguably the best overall resume and Sor Rungvisai has the best recent wins. I'd still put Lomachenko behind these 3, but he got closer yesterday. I can see how the 4 of them could be considered as top tier. Loma is above Crawford anyway.

He definitely is and I think he couldve beat Roman in a rematch and I think he will beat Wangek if they fight again.

i definitely think he's the best boxer as far as skill is concerned, and i'm not trying to say that the rest at the top aren't good, but he's amazing.

and he just won a title in a third weight class, in record time. and he keeps stopping people. what more can he do?

Sor Rungvisai definitely has the best recent resume. Gonzalez x2 and Estrada is a crazy 3 fight run.

Go to 140lb and fight Pacquiao in November

I think Lomo is a much better boxer than Canelo but he just doesn't have the opponents with big names. Not that Canelo beat that many big name opponents.

Rigo quit on his stool and is at number 10, Kovalev got beat twice by Ward and is 8 I think. Canelo got busted drugs cheating and is number 4.

Overhaul needed I think.

i don't want him to do that. he looked severely undersized against linares at 135, i don't want him to immediately move up to 140... manny is shot and lomachenko would rape him if they were the same size, but pacman is a lot bigger.

if lomachenko moves to 140, i want him to beat a few people at 135 first. moving too far up in weight too quickly could get him hurt.

It all comes down to the criteria we use. My belief is that the only objective one is the resume. The rest is pure subjectivity (and one could argue Canelo is as good a boxer as Loma, just a very different beast).

As a big fan of Rigo, he doesn't belong anywhere near a p4p list in 2018. He doesn't have a genuine top win in more than 5 years. Kovalev still probably does deserve a spot considering their first fight was drawish and he was facing another top 3 p4p fighter. It's tough to know what to do with Canelo at the moment. The TBRB ranking is better, though:

1.Terence Crawford
2 Vasyl Lomacheno
3 Srisaket Sor Rungvisai
4 Gennady Golovkin
5 Mikey Garcia
6 Naoya Inoue
7 Leo Santa Cruz
8 Oleksandr Usyk
9 Anthony Joshua
10 Errol Spence Jr.

This is pre-Linares fight, so Crawford and Lomachenko might switch places. Joshua wouldn't be top 10 for me, and Santa Cruz is probably a little high for my liking, as well. Substitute Kovalev for Joshua and it's a good list for me.

I don't know if he will but it'll bring in alot of money assuming Manny wins next month.
Mannys camp wants it. I just don't know if Lomas camp will approve.

TBRB tends to be the least bias out of all the rankings. I think they use some type of volunteer system for rankings or something or they pick a wide variety of voters to get it as perfect as they can.

Yeah, there is no financial conflict of interest that Ring has (granted, the GBP bias doesn't come through in the Ring rankings as much as one might expect). It's interesting that they consider Garcia lineal at 140, but when you think about it, Lipinets could reasonably have been rated #2 at JWW making that fight a #1 and #2 and thus starting a new lineage.

true.

i have a feeling money isn't what motivates lomachenko, though. not that he doesn't want to earn it, but i think he'll put his legacy first. hopefully they don't over-extend themselves in trying to secure it.

ya maybe according to ESPN and top rank.. NO he's not p4p #1 I wouldn't rank him in my top 10 p4p. Retired or not Floyd mayweather jr is the top p4p of all time.
