Can UFC make Stipe fight Ngannou ?

Whether Stipe wins or loses to Jones then that should be it for him because he is fighting 1 time in a year

Possibly. Stipe has lost against someone Jones beat twice, and a couple of other fighters, and Ngannou lost vs Stipe.

Jones matches up against both really well.

Has Jones lost a step? Has Ngannou gained a step?

Jones could leapfrog NGannou if he talked as much shit toward Stipe as he did Izzy to build the fight. Stipe isn’t going to call out anyone being the HW champ. Since Jones hasn’t been building a fight specifically with Stipe, other then just talking about winning the HW title, NGannou will get the shot.

UFC will offer NGannou and Stipe will have to take it or get stripped lmao. I mean they could offer him another contender for less money but it would look bad if Stipe turned Francis down lmao. It will happen just not when UFC and Francis wants.

If it werent for the Santos and Reyes figjts i would give him a better shot, but he isnt the dominant fighter he once was. And officially he only beat Cormier once. But fuck ya lets go!
 
Of course they can’t force him. They can’t force anyone to fight if the fighter doesn’t want to. What they can and should do though is cut Miocic if won’t rematch Ngannou next.
 
Why wouldn't he fight him? He already completely dominated him. Stipe just likes to take a lot of time between defenses to recover. They could do an interim belt, but they wouldn't strip him for that.
Stipe fights anyone they put in front of him, pretty pointless thread.
 
Do people really believe Stipe is afraid to fight Ngannou again?

The terms "ducking" and "afraid" are thrown around way to liberally.
 
I'm secretly hoping for Ngannou - Jones to get made for April/May simply because I love that matchup the best and don't want it to get ruined by Stipe beating Ngannou again.

If Ngannou wins, his rematch with Stipe would be even bigger. The guy who beat DC back to back vs the guy who beat Jones. Would truly feel like the fight for the title of Baddest Man on the Planet.
 
You can't have your HW champ fight once a year and cherry pick fights. If Stipe wants to continue his career, he's going to have to be more active and fight the deserving challenger, which right now is Ngannou.

Let Jones fight Overeem in the meantime.
 
They're going fight, they just probably won't fight until around April.
 
Stipe can try to duck as he always does but UFC will just eventually strip him, he'll be forced to fight by next summer at least.

Dana is probably sick of Stipe at this point and his bullshit.

I would much rather see Stipe - Jones entertament wise, even though Ngannou is more dangerous.
 
The Ngannou rematch only makes me a little curious, since Stipe already viciously kicked the shit out of him.

I'll still stream it to see if Ngannou can land before gassing and getting molested.

Stipe vs Jones is the Grail match, or Stipe vs someone new is still better than Francis tbh imo ngl tbh

the only way stipe doesnt fight is cause he will say im retied. the ufc goal is always to put on the best fights they can. stipe doesnt need to avoid a guy he beat just as easy a 2nd time

if Stipe were to cowardly do that, I would just consider Francis the official champ. Would also just strip him if I worked for the UFC with out hesitation.

Jon really isnt that big of a draw. And its only going to lower with his recent performances. If Francis gets that belt in his next fight, he could really skyrocket as a casual star.
 
he will 100% get stripped if he declines the fight. stipe doesn't have the same kneepads that dana uses for conor
