Can there be an honest discussion about Conor's chances against Aldo?

UFC knows connor hype won't last - they are simply cashing in on an investment they made. It's like buying a penny stock that goes up 10000% before it goes bust.

Get out of the heavies if you want to actually talk about anything. I recommend the striking technique forum.

Aldo is the greatest anti wrestler of our time, but he has always looked significantly less impressive against inferior fighters who are looking to only stand up with him.
He's still above and beyond the greatest striker McGregor is ever likely to face throughout the entirety of his career unless he fights Pettis or Anderson Silva or someone.

Aldo is essentially impossible to defeat with wrestling-based gameplans, true, but his striking is fundamentally excellent and not at all limited to anti-wrestling, even if he is at his best when striking with a guy who doesn't actually want to strike with him.

I think people are severely overrating Siver's leg kicks on Connor. He knocked Conor down, what, twice? With kicks that he landed while Conor was throwing high kicks, so he only had one foot posted on the ground? Big deal. It's not like it was chopping him down like Aldo v Urijah, Conor is too mobile for that.
