Can someone explain to me shoyoroll gis

I can vouch for Koral and Atama. They're good. Gameness isn't that bad either, but they've got some gi that are super comfotable, light, great for hot weather or making weight.
If you want something that will endure the taste of time (and grips), go for a fuji. They're very uncomfortable though.

I was considering a gameness elite as an alternative to the atama mundial. people say that the rashguard lining is super comfortable ( but again: it's still a $200 gi)

I'm seeing a lot of Padilla love on here. May be worth checking into. I don't mind spending a little extra coin, but I like saving it too. Gi's are definitely an investment, if you take care of them, the better ones seem to last

shoot, you got me there. sorry, I didn't take into account for the special editions or the colored ones. I actually just meant between $150-175 for their classics or MKM whites. I never thought Korals were that good until I bought the white MKM and was just amazed at the quality of it.

My black Koral MKM is my favorite. I think I paid around $200, I forget exactly but I know it's worth the extra $50 over the other brands I've spent my money on.

Are the classics and Lights any good? They're only $150 and $170. I don't think I'm going to spend money on another brand unless there aren't anymore colors I want want from Koral.

And oh snap, look who they got modeling they're gis...

They changed the gi game forever IMO. Haters are going to hate, but the gis are not only beautiful, they fit awesome and hold up. People probably dislike them because they are hard to get, but if you pay attention, not so much.

My batch six has held up FAR worse than my Koral classic or any other gi i've had, actually.

It's also the most expensive gi i've ever purchased.

The only thing keeping them relevant is the odd cult of conspicuous consumption that surround their brand.

I was at Worlds and SYR was doing a special gi sale. Since I was there, i wanted to see what the fuss was about so i waited in line. There were supposedly 100 gi's and i was number 65. I waited in line for two hours and when I got to the front I was told the only size available were A0. I was freaken pissed. How can I be number 65 and only A0 was remaining. This would imply that probably over 40% of the gi's were designed for umpa lumpas size adults. What the hell? I will never make an attempt to buy another SYR again

i bought my first syr because i liked the design of the gi: i don't like a lot of bling, but i do like a little bit of styling. their design formula hit the mark for me.

nowadays, i've grown tired of the presale rigamarole. i'll still pick one up in the future if it's not on freakin presale, because, quite honestly, they fit better than any gi i've ever owned (which include a koral classic, atama ultralite, atama mundial, keiko, manto, live love fight, ouano, lucky, fuji, mizuno and fushida (the mizuno and fushida were judo gis). most of these i've purchased, worn once or twice, then sold. right now, i only have 3: 2 syr and the atama mundial. i keep coming back to the syr. and it's not even for the design anyore, because everybody and their drag queen mother has hopped on that formula. it's the fit.

the fit won't be the same for everyone, but man -- i really love mine. the average price i've paid is 170+shipping. well worth it, and on par with other gis in that price range. the 4-5 month wait was aggravating, but i'm hoping that trend is about over. we'll see.

Damn, they can't even make selling gi's out of a booth easy for people. Two hours to get through 65 customers buying 1 item each?

I was not at Mundials, but I have common sense (or at least I think I do), so I know that 'LoopChoke' must have commenced queuing before the booth started selling the kimonos, or else he would never even been #65. Your inane critique of what transpired is similar to someone blaming footlocker for their wait of twenty-four hours for a pair of limited sneakers when it was THEIR decision to camp for twenty-four hours (or more) before the item was ever going to be available to purchase at footlocker.

Aside from that, several individuals are complaining about how "expensive" Shoyorolls are and then touting other GI companies that cost exactly the same or ironically enough more in some cases. Note: no one forces you to buy them. Don't like Shoyoroll? Cool. There are plenty of others tripping over you to purchase, or the chance to purchase, even on the secondary market where they are happy to pay 500$+ for a single kimono.

In sum - Shoyoroll > you. Keep training. - E

Telling you man, PnS are the way to go.

I think their gold weave is one of the best and most underrated gis on the market

The price is amazing considering the quality of production you're getting. I've had my blue gold weave for years and it's holding up better than any other gi I've had for even shorter time.

I have that gi in white. It's built well. Mine doesnt have the lining though. They had a few that the lining was not sewn in right when they came in from over seas, so they gave a huge discount on it. I live in FL too, so if you want to see it in person, and you are close I can show it to you. I'm in Winter Haven.

Although SYR gis seem good quality, I would not spend the extra money for one when there are many others that are just as good or better quality for less $$. Not to say they are not good quality, just some others are better for the money IMO.

It's your money, if you want one buy it!!

For Jiu-Jitsu I have a Padilla and Sons and it cost me over a hundred dollars less then these retarded "trendy gi's"...

Its a great gi. I also have one made by Koral and its great as well. A little bit more expensive but it's light and pretty easy on me in hot weather.

I'll never understand people's fascination with Shoyoroll or fashion on the mats. I would rather concentrate on important stuff like getting better at grappling...

I don't see why Shoyoroll hasn't been overshadowed by other brands yet. I'm currently big on Origin gis. They're flashy as all hell, affordable, and you can order one when you want to as opposed to setting your alarm for a 3 AM Tuesday presale. I love mine and it came with a matching rashguard.

Sometimes they have delays but they take the unexplored route of actually informing you of the exact reasons for the delays.

These reviews aren't the greatest, but the comments at the bottom are well worth checking out if youre looking at the classic and the light:

They're a fashion statement, nothing more. Like buying a Lucky Gi but slightly less douchey.

No no no no no! I've tried on a few SYR gis, and they sre unremarkable. But when I got a few Lucky Gis in for my pro shop, I tried one on and was immediately hooked! They're unbelievably comfortable, and I will always have one Lucky in rotation from here on out.

I agree with you totally. People will always shit on something they can't afford/obtain or don't understand. Their too pricey, too douchey, too flashy wahhhh wahhhh wahhhh fucking cry me a river. I work hard for my money and SYR is money well spent IMO. Next thing you know they'll be shitting on private lessons as well LOL. "Bruh why you gotta get privates and improve your game so much bruh?!?!" Dumbasses.

Comparing buying a syr to buying privates... did you eat paint chips as a child? In what way would a syr gi benefit the advancement of your skills?

people are, um, aware that you can buy the EXACTLY same gi under a different brand, right? There are probably 2 dozen companies having the same gis made in the same factory, stitch-for-stitch. Even that gameness elite jacket is the same paki pearl 450 jacket as all the rest of them. you can buy a pearl gi from CTRL and compare it to that elite jacket and they are identical, except for the colors. Gameness just has a rashguard inside. check out a moya too, same gi, almost all of them are now.

SYR is just unremarkable given that precisely the same gi can be had from tons of other companies. The only difference is the color of the stitching and the patches on it and SYRs are not that goodlooking. All the seams, taping location, cut, labels, same place exactly. the koral black gold is cool and it was like $50 off on some site. I have a P&S gold and it's a solid no frills gi, but IMO the gameness platinum was/is the most comfortable gi made. pearl and single weaves are like cardboard compared to a decent gold/plat weave. I need to try a lucky bamboo but i'm scared bc i heard some ppl had them rip

You need to read it again. His point is that he can spend his cash on the gi that he likes.

I'm happy that clearly someone else doesn't understand what the fuss is about SYR gis. I walked in on a convo in the lockerroom where one dude was talking about getting one and selling it on eBay 6months later for max profit. The other dude was hyped for him and I really didn't know what was what

I don't hate SYr. I don't know about them quite honestly.

Shoyoroll gives back to the community by way of fighter sponsorship and nicely recorded media. I don't own one of their Gi's but I like any company that gives back to the sport that has made them so successful.

Most I not all Gi companies sponsor people and put videos online now, it's normal marketing
