Can someone explain to me shoyoroll gis

You pay a membership to get the oppertunity to pre order a mid tier gi at a high price that you have to wait months to get.

Or you could take your chances at a retailer that has SYR gi, but chances are slim and you still pay the high price for the mid tier gi and wait months to get it.

Never really got the SYR hype. You pay for a brazillian quality gi but get one made in Pakistan.:)

But some fall for the hype and give into the marketing ploy that they are so unique and limited that they must be had I guess..

SYR aren't Brazilians i believe... they're from GUAM.

They are not flashy at all. They are of average price about 185. Each edition is unique. Be ready for wait and disappointment if you missed out at the pre sale that only last for two hours.

On The Mat SLC 420 - Durable
Contract Killer - The flashiest gi I like. Comfortable but baggy in the arms and long skirt.
Kingz 550 - Lighter than my SLC 420. I like it but haven't worn it much. Will let you know later.

Well depending on the factory the Pakistani one may be better, they have been doing gis for ages.

I'm not a GUMA member, but I think Shoyoroll gis are the best on the market.

Why? They fit my body style.

SYR and Lucky are to gi what ipad/ipod/iphone are to personal electronics.
They look fancy, they're trendy, they are overpriced, they're not the best quality but they're not bad at all either, they put out "ultra unique" editions that have nothing unique about them other than colours... and every "cool" kid has one.

I can vouch for Koral and Atama. They're good. Gameness isn't that bad either, but they've got some gi that are super comfotable, light, great for hot weather or making weight.
If you want something that will endure the taste of time (and grips), go for a fuji. They're very uncomfortable though.

just got the single weave will be using it Sunday. Heard only good things about padilla gi. plus it was only 105

I hate sounding like a shill for something but I can't imagine there being a Gi of this quality/comfort for a comparable price, its held up much better than my Atama Gi.

They fit more like a suit than a judogi, one contribution to their popularity.

"Can someone explain to me shoyoroll gis"

They are the Swatch of the BJJ world. The Pet Rock. The Beanie Baby. The Tamagotchi. The Cabbage Patch Doll. The Mood Ring.

Want to save yourself a couple of bucks? Call the guy in the link below. The person who picks up will most likely be Padilla...or one of his sons. Give him the make up of your "body style" and they'll actually make it to fit YOU.

If you like the Atama Mundial and want to pay less, go for a Padilla and Son's Gold Weave. Below is the one I purchased, its a fantastic Gi for the price.

Padilla & Sons Gold Weave - White

Padilla makes custom cut gis? Didn't know that.

I almost bought one of their gis, but he spammed the fuck out of my google calendar with his "marketing events", so I defriended him and bought a Gorilla gi

They changed the gi game forever IMO. Haters are going to hate, but the gis are not only beautiful, they fit awesome and hold up. People probably dislike them because they are hard to get, but if you pay attention, not so much.

some of the designs are nice but I am not a huge fan of SHoyorolls. IMO, you pay for the novelty and name brand of the gis. In reality, their gis suck for the price it goes for. But, it is not a terrible gi, just terrible for what they charge. Essentially a lower quality gi that can afford to charge Koral prices because of their marketing and trendy attraction.

Also, SHoyorolls aren't great for my body type because Every one I have tried on has baggy sleeves on me so spider guards would be near unbreakable for me if I wore their gis

Koral prices eh? You mean like $250 for a limited edition black and gold gi? Or $199 for black or navy MKMs?

shoot, you got me there. sorry, I didn't take into account for the special editions or the colored ones. I actually just meant between $150-175 for their classics or MKM whites. I never thought Korals were that good until I bought the white MKM and was just amazed at the quality of it.

Never said they were Brazillian. The gi's are made in Pakistan and I'm not sure where the guys come from that own the joint... If that's what your saying.

Shoyoroll gives back to the community by way of fighter sponsorship and nicely recorded media. I don't own one of their Gi's but I like any company that gives back to the sport that has made them so successful.
