I have been a fan of Moicano for a long time and I am glad he gets this giant opportunity. Sadly, I don’t think he is at that level yet and Islam will likely make it look easy. Unfortunatelly, this will Set Renato back for a year if not forever. Rooting for him, but not holding my breath. The card just went down by 20%.

There's no setting back. He gets the shot he wanted and keep making money fights after that. He'll probably will be making more money on the next fights coming from a loss to Islam than from a win over Dariush. His goal was always to maximize his earnings.

Unless Islam Volks him or rips his shoulder... that would be setbacks

considering the surprise factor (Islam wasnt training for Moicano) and how moicano looked vs. st dennis (who was competitive against dustin), Id say he has more than just 'a chance'. That said, Islam is definitely the superior fighter and thus the favorite. My guess is about 70/30 for Islam.

If Moicano takes this I wont be shocked. There have been much bigger upsets in the UFC.

Moicano probably loses, but he isn't getting mauled on the mats like those two unless he gets rocked first or gasses bad late. He's a far, far better grappler than hooker and green

Moicano generally gets smashed by elite opponents in both divisions he's fought in.

Islam is better at every single measurable skill of MMA. Its possible Moicano creates some fun exchanges, but he is going to get out classed.

BSD was competitive with Dustin by getting knocked out brutally in the 2nd round? LMAO what is going on here? He also lost the best fighter he previously got matched with, albeit on short notice. Got beaten up. There is absolutely nothing about Saint Denis that recommends he can be competitive with top 10 opponents.

Do you remember the way RDA just absolutely MOLLYWHOPPED Moicano? That it was hard to watch that type of beating?

Moicano is fun and he's a very slick grappler, but he is fringe top 10 and will trade wins/losses with fringe top 10. He gets wrecked when he faces elite opposition at 145/155, then and now.

That was just a style thing. Moicano easily grappled BSD whereas Poirier is a striker. Islam is a completely different monster.

Can never say never, and Moicano was training for a southpa, and it’s almost a free title shot with no pressure and no one expecting him to win so could come in with a clear mind and surprise Islam.

Either way, if Islam wins he gets shat on for a dubious defence by the Hate Brigade.
