Can Conor's aura come back?

If you lose to one of the best boxers ever and one of the best mma wrestlers ever, back to back, you’re a poser of a fighter and a fraud according to sherdog.

I think it was the loss to Diaz that damaged him most to be honest.

Diaz took that fight on a few days notice and McGregor completely wilted in the second round after a full camp.

Depends on what aura TS is talking about. The mystic mac aura was gone after the Diaz fights imo

He still has the big star aura in the UFC if that means anything these days
This. As much as Im a hater and I believe that the he can beat anybody shit has finally fuct off and made this a better place, no fight is bigger than a Conor fight. Bars are packed, you see it advertised every fucking where and casuals come back. For me personally its a Tony/Bobby fight but they dont sit anywhere near as close.

A definite no.

Money has gotten to his head and isn't the same Conor that came into the UFC.

You can see it happening one day it will all come crashing down and Conor will be in a lot of trouble. He also won't gain any sympathy because he is continually alienating fans with his antics.

How did he do well against Khabib ? He got mauled in two rounds and maybe won a round because Khabib basically coasted it. Lesser fighters have done better.

That said, I still think he can compete with the elite but he is largely unproven at LW and against larger opposition. I still think he's comfortably top 10 at LW though. I don't think his mind is all that focused for a future in fighting, he's had one foot out the door for a while now.

He actually didn't do too bad against Khabib. No one that knows mma thought he would win, but he did hang in there for a bit.
Yeah but the reason for that is that he constantly cheated throughout the entire fight and had a crooked referee ignoring all of his fouls.

"Can Conor's aura come back?"

That's assuming of course that he had a "aura" in the first place!!

I'm having more and more of a hard time imagining Conor training to the level he would have to train at to be that guy again, he looked slow against Khabib and i think that version could lose to the majority of ranked lw's.

Doesn't seem to have the motivation required, he no longer lives a fighters life, he sees his future alongside the Fertitta's not the GSP's and Fedor's of MMA.

I more mean the out of the octagon stuff. It isn't just one or two things, and it really isn't like a rumour because there is video of most of it. This last incident is just cringy. Punching an old man who is minding his own business, and then the old guy just takes the shot and keeps on drinking. At some point even the biggest fan must see the black lining.
Maybe after some prison Time he could play the Hardy angle

Diaz bros are most likely in the same shape year round ready to go and Conor accepted that fight on short notice as well against the bigger opponent. He also avenged his loss and gave Nate more brain damage then Nate gave him in the 2 fights.

its amazing that some people like that youtube Geordie needed to see him punch an old man to finally turn on him. we have video of him attacking the bus with women in it, hitting chiesa in the face and glassing borgs eyes

he pissed on two different high profile boxers by releasing editted video

fought the dirtiest fight in history against khabib, second only to him hammerfisting the back of floyds head a million times and punching him in the dick

he cheats on his woman making her look like a fucking idiot

people were fans through all of that somehow

all its gonna take is one shitty promo for conor vs bj penn where dana says that "conor is the most amazing, awesome fighter ive ever seen, he hits harder than tyson" and all the morons will be on his nuts again

You said it yourself really 'Can Conor'

The haters are - correctly - out in force and I myself “hate” (I don’t like the word, very strong aversion is more in line with my feelings) Conor’s behavior and post-Floyd persona ... but keeping a rational mind, he didn’t do terribly against Khabib and wiped the FW and LW champions before him, so IF (a huge IF now) he returns clean and focused only on MMA, then he could very well win a couple of high profile fights and be back to the top or nearby (Khabib will always be a very difficult matchup). Time is running out however, due to his antics, mounting legal troubles, alcohol or drugs, lack of training and inescapable age ... 29-32 should be the athletic prime for fighting and he’s wasting it.

Conor held the greatest title in the whole world, babe. he lost that fight for all the wrong reasons. Connor lost his edge. All right, I know the Mayweather loss had him all messed up inside, but the truth is he didn’t look hungry.

Now when he fought Aldo he had that eye of the tiger, man, the edge. And now he's gotta get it back, and the way to get it back is to go back to the beginning. You know what I mean?

The only way he gets it back fully is by dominating Khabib and maybe Ferg. Bar that, he'll only ever be a great striker at 155lbs (if he ever fights again). I'm so over his antics but Id love to see a come back. I got into MMA during the Rousey/Mac era - while I still love watching fights and watch most UFC main cards - the hype and exposure they brought to the sport was something special.

Yes with a win for sure. But he can't get fights as the UFC and him can't come to terms. So his future fights are limited.

aura of what ? 2016? even if he gets the belt again and goes another 500 + days without defending it,nobody besides casuals would care
