Can Conor improve his cardio with training ?

Human physiology says yes to that question always. VO2/VCO2 Max decreases with age but currently im sure he is extremely conditioned. He has a style that comes in anaerobic high energy bursts, its hard to maintain that for a whole fight. Hes a Type 2 muscle fiber athlete. Lots of big relfex reactions as well with his defense that use alot of energy.

Boxers don't have to deal with heavy grappling, body kicks and leg kicks.
Yeah but they also clinch, and it was evident so had better conditioning in the fight with Conor vs Mayweather. Conor isn't a grappling heavy fighter, never has been.

He can improve his cardio, but not to the point of being a cardio freak or anything. And if he tried to go that far, his fast twitching advantages like power and speed would diminish greatly. In reality, it's not really worth it. He should just concentrate on improving his pacing so that he can conserve his energy better when he fights.

Ohhh right, right, the last 30 seconds where Khabib stopped hitting a defenseless turtle so that way he can punish him more. Now I remember.

"Stopped hitting a defenseless turtle" literally all Khabib is trying to do in this gif is punch Conor

I’m guessing you’ve never ran over a mile before? Lol
Yea absolutely, you’re right. You’re the only one who has ran, and obviously the cardio you have developed from running is exactly the same as the cardio needed for high level MMA.

Absolutely lmao. The absurdity.

No i said that money isnt the only thing in his mind and motivation. Use Reading Comprehension.
Did I say it was the only thing?
...so you are admitting that YOU are not using reading and Comprehension (while blaming me for it) meanwhile you are opting for being flat out dishonest.

of course he can. anyone can.

what people here don't realize is that for the fast majority of athletes, high level cardio for a fight isn't attained in a single training camp. it takes a long time to develop the kind of conditioning you need for 25 minutes of grueling fighting.

if conor's head was in the game and he trained year round, and actually wanted to work on his conditioning... he could easily be in good enough shape to not get tired. but when you spend your off season drinking and doing blow, the 9 weeks you spend in camp just isn't enough.

can you post gifs for the rest of the round please?

Conor & everyone knows his cardio is an issue. If he could've made it world class he would've by now. Can it improve? Yes. But part of it is genetics, Conor is a lot of fast twitch muscle fibre, even if he had the same cardio training routine as Colby, he still wouldn't be Colby's equal in cardio

You’re seriously trying to argue that running wouldn’t help his cardio? Lmfao. You certainly sound like someone who doesn’t run. Does it make you too tired, hun?

I guess it’s pure coincidence that most MMA fighters and Boxers with the best cardio also run a lot...

Can he have the Usman, Colby, sea level Cain cardio with the right training or he will always have issue with his gas tank? Because of genetics or whatever?

Tireless Conor 8.0 would be hard to beat lets be honest

No.

The things that largely drain him are areas he (relatively speaking) sucks at. On the bottom, and wrestling anyone thats not an aging cerrone.

The way for him to get better at that type of "cardio" or more aptly condition would be to train in those areas more.

Sadly at this point in his career I dont see a massive resurgence or change in his fighting.

And to be fair, why should he? Its clear hes been quite successful the majority of the time. Imo he should focus more on how to implement what hes best at and how to defend/mitigate what hes bad at.

Sure, he can improve his cardio, but will it be enough?

He didn't have awful cardio way back when he started in the UFC.
All his fights were over before the 3rd round except Max in his 7 UFC fight career at FW before moving up.
