Knew a retiree in Korea who called everyone Dildoc
That is a very unusual sounding nickname and if that means what I think it does that's one hell of a nickname to have..

My nickname in boot camp was Foghorn Leghorn.
Now that was a classic and it stopped surprising me early on how lacking common sense some of the higher ups were.Actually I got a good one.
When I was in Berlin, right before I rotated, we had a GySgt come in as our new detcmdr. Dude was a total tool. So he comes into one of our weekly set meetings saying he was gonna give himself a call sign. We were like oh fuck no funny you know the rules, you don't get to choose your call sign. Without batting an eye one of the sgts says we already came up with ur call sign and its home depot. He asks why home depot, someone responds with "because you have the tools to make us better marines" he sits there for a sec and is like I love it!
Mind you we're sitting there trying to hold in our laughter and our assistant detcmdr turns away from us and walks into the kitchen and all u hear is laughing. Dude had no idea the true meaning behind his call sign.
It was classic.
