i've asked you guys time and time again in this thread to show me examples of trans women dominating women they aren't simply better than like lia thomas. every example of trans women "dominating" is always some person who transitioned 6 months ago winning a weightlifting competition at a local bodybuilding expo. it's not any real level of competition.

A gay person, or a black person, doesn't need a surgery to be gay or black. They simply are what they are. You can even separate that a bit since a black person can't choose to not be black, while a gay person may choose not to live a gay lifestyle, but the general idea there is the same. Presumably a gay person doesn't choose what turns them on. They don't require anyone else participate in their assumed identity to inhabit that identity. Because it is fixed. This is the genius of Chappelle's standup.


Nor can one assert a black person expecting to be allowed into a competition (such as a pro sports league) like Jackie Robinson is the same as a trans-person. Even if we ignored that we know black people are exactly like people of any other race, scientifically speaking, this philosophically still wouldn't be parallel. Because Jackie was black. That's what he was. He wasn't denying his inherited identity. He wasn't choosing to be something other than what he was. Meanwhile, the trans person expecting to compete in a women's sport...uh, no, you already have an identity. You are male. That's what you were born. It's objective. If you choose to be something else, that's fine, but that doesn't require us to participate in your subjective self-image.

Let me be clear. I'm not dictating that I think it is morally imperative that you (or anyone) call someone a "she" because that person asked you to do so. I think it's acceptable if you say no, and continue to refer to that person as a "he". I would understand if that person decided he or she didn't like you for that, and tried to avoid you, although it's not always possible to avoid someone for reasons like this depending on the situation.

I'm simply saying that I personally have no issue abiding the request. I consider it good manners. IRL, I try to be gracious with people who are gracious to me.
