Well if you own a house that was destroyed, you'd still be able to own the property and rebuild whatever you want. Single family or not. I don't think you realize how affluent (and therefore inefficient from a housing perspective) Pacific Palisades is. Median price of sold homes is a couple million, at least. Not to mention the rest of the state and country will be bailing out these primarily wealthy folks.

You don't seem to understand how affluent WestLA is as a whole, my neighborhood is $2M, the Palisades add $1.5M, Malibu double that,for ~10 mile difference up the coast. That billionaires row section of homes literally sitting on the Pacific Ocean off the side of PCH, that was completely leveled, don't even ask, no matter how much money you have, it is pretty much invitation only.

It is also not as simple as just rebuilding whatever you want on the land you own because of Prop 13 impact. If you take the opportunity to build a bigger and better home on your burned out lot, hopefully you are prepared for that extremely bigger property tax bill you are going to get.

LAFD and Cal Fire have discriminated against white men since the 1970's. Almost 60 years of discrimination.

When does it end? Los Angeles public government doesn't hire white dudes. My cousin is a public defender hired in the 90's. She said she was lucky because they pushed diversity so hard they were cracking down on hiring white women.

It is stupid. Hire the best.

I have know many firemen, my buddy was a chief, another friend was high up in CalFire. Another family relative was a fireman out of Orange County. All of these people are white.

Perhaps just a coincidence.

Perhaps you disagree but most of us believe organizations like police and fire departments should loosely reflect the ethnic make up of the communities they serve. At least a certain level of effort should be made to obtain this.
