Opinion California on fire

Build where shit burns often, expect things to burn down

Build where shit floods often, expect things to get flooded and washed away

Build where tornadoes destroy shit often, expect shit to get blown apart

Same for Hurricaines and every other natural weather and climate event.

I sympathize for those being effected but there is also the reality of the areas where one lives. Eventually nature wins.

Of course there are preparations that can be made to try and mitigate some of the destruction but it looks like in Cali those steps werent taken as seriously as they should have been. Too bad none of the leaders there will really be held accountable for their part in the failures.

Oh, maybe the Fire Chief will be a sacrifical scapegoat or possibly the mayor's political career will come to a dead end but Gavin is gonna come through shiny, clean and politically secure

Time to invested in greywater systems and pressure washers

The right wing hacks went into overdrive as soon as this started. They're just using it to score any and all political points possible. The Klamath example might be the dumbest out of all of them. If only those dams 700 miles away were still there LA wouldn't have burned!

legit question are you drunk right now ???

Fucking 2025 is less than two weeks old, and I'm already tired of it's shit. :(

Like BTO Stuttered, you ain't seen nothin' yet. The plans are in gear creating pandemonium in all situations at all locations.

Yea but I also remember Rogan saying that he spoke to a firefighter who said eventually there is going toto fund illegals and Sanctuary Citie be a fire that burns it all down and there wont be anything they can do to stop it.
Sure, how could it possibly be stopped with the obvious steps taken that prevent fires being stopped?

Newsome's Chief pick assured no water and no crews are available due to Gavin enforcing seemingly treasonous Policies that use taxpayer money to pay all expenses for illegals and Sanctuary Cities while endangering citizens by defunding the Fire Departments.
I do think it's fair to say that these unfortunate events are at least in some part due to the unintended consequences of their political beliefs.
Unintended consequences./S

I remember when driving through CA when I was working there in 2015 and seeing billboard after billboard on I-5 urging people to vote for legislation that would increase the budget for water conservation and the creation of new dams. Farmers were getting fucked at the time because it was at the peak of that particular drought.

Of course we can't predict wildfires with good certainty, and the wind from the canyons played a role in how severity it is. But, there are fires all over the state, every single year. It's crazy to run out of water in the fire hydrants. I bet the firefighters aren't all that happy with the response from government officials. Gotta at least give the guys the resources to actually fight the fires. What can you even do at that point?

The farmers and agriculture industry have the government by the balls when it comes to water. The vast majority of water is used by farmers. Cities get maybe 10% of California water supply.

Yeah I'm not super surprised. When you're growing a 1/3 of the country's produce you're gonna have to call dibs on a good portion of that water.

Look at all of these trash people online talking about how they don't care if rich people's houses burn down.

Had my daughters freaking out, i had them turn off these emergency notifications and Amber alerts

Because the firefighter knew they were not removing fuel or doing controlled burns.
