In this case I was specifically thinking of a Twitter thread where I pissed off a white supremacist with thousand of followers and they all spit out the same stories about the historic tales of oppressed white people.

I think generally people are pretty tribal and I understand how much it must suck for some white to keep seeing themselves represented as the bad guys. Imagine how British people feel about how they're represented in film, especially American films.

That isn't really an apt comparison. An apples-to-apples comparison would be how White people use the word "redneck" as a term of endearment, even though it can also be used in a derogatory manner.

This started because a few of made reference to his brown pride tattoo in a joking manner. Once douche cactus claimed the comments were racial attacks and claims that his tat is not at all gang related. I am pointing out that there is a. A brown pride gang, and b. That tattoo is not at all acceptable in other circles. It’s a double standard. Do I give a shit if some jackhole gets judged for having a white power tat? Fuck no. He deserves it for being stupid, but thst doesn’t mean that others should not also face persecution.

You keep bringing up a gang no one has heard of but you don't even know what their tattoos looks like. You can't claim someone is repping a gang when you have zero insight into what the gang tat is.

Well that's because it was always ok to be white in this society. There was a time when it wasn't ok to be brown or black, hence the pride of their heritage.

You shouldn't be ashamed of being white, but saying white pride is stupid because it's never really been a thing that held you back in society, unlike being a minority

Except they are, just because one group is smaller than the other doesn't mean they aren't drinking the same juice.

All those groups think their "people" should be granted special considerations or in some instances, actual direct transfers of capital solely based on the color of their people's skin.

You can call that pride if you want, but you're not fooling anyone but yourself.

Saying black pride, brown pride, or yellow pride is just as basic and simple as some redneck saying white pride.

It's the slogan of the ignorant and feeble minded. It's even more basic that you don't think it is.

This is true, which is why it's unfortunate that people think brown/black pride is a good idea that anyone needs.

The example was more so if a group “taking back” something that was derogatory or associated with hatred was ok for one race it should be ok for another to do it too.

I haven’t seen anyone defending it. I think it is more the negative association with pride in being white. I hate racists no matter what race or ethnicity they are
