Well the reason for that is likely to do with a lack of money to pay for an adequate legal defense. Cain has enough money to pay for a lawyer.

Prosecutors always over charge. Once all the details get sorted and evidence comes to light it will probably be something lesser. I just don't see Cain shooting someone if he wasn't provoked. I think the big issue here will be whether he had a legal firearm and a license to carry.
