I think in urban areas education is generally less prevalent. I would say education or lack there of has a correlation with not being supported of homosexuality.

I would argue that the rejection of homosexuality in the black community is more culturally based than anything else though.

That's right. @Rob Battisti isn't necessarily wrong to say it's cultural, but culture isn't created in a vacuum. It's an amalgam of many different factors, including religion, education, and socioeconomic status. To say it's just the culture isn't accurate, because it's proven that wealthier, more educated, and less religious black Americans are much more accepting of homosexuality.

It's quite the mindfuck, isn't it. It's akin to labeling the left racist because of things like affirmative action and DEI hiring. Trying to level the field marginally is of course going to be called racist.

I've said before I have concerns about him and his history (specifically his shrouded resume and his work with McKinsey) but as far as competency goes, he's as good as it gets. People dismissing his accomplishments are insane, and he'd be the best communicator we've seen run for office since Obama.

I don't think a gay man could win the presidency in America these days. I don't think a gay man will win the Democratic Nomination and sure as hell wouldn't even try the Republican nomination.

Its those between the two parties that have to be all in. There have been surprises. I was surprised Romney won the primary in 2012 as a Mormon. I was surprised Republicans had a black candidate (Cain) as a front-runner in the primary for a time. Obv dems won with Obama and a large white vote outside of the party faithful. There are many things that I consider changes to the voting blocks from previous generations. But there are plenty of religious peeps on both sides in terms of Pete being gay. Not enough will turn out for him.
