News Burns is going after 20-12 marijuana guy hard

Nate still makes more than Burns and Burns is fighting for an actual title. Thats all Nate was trying to point out. For a marijuana guy, he seems to have a better understanding than most when it comes to the fight game.

But its good to see Burns bring up the RDA fight purse. Nate played by the UFC rules and went on TUF and won his season. He then fought his way through the division, picking up many bonuses for FOTN along the way. When he earned his title shot, he asked to renegotiate his contract and the UFC said no. And thats how he ended up getting such a low payday for that RDA fight.

Dana constantly bashed Nate in the media claiming he wasn't a draw while simultaneously making him headline Fight nights on Fox. Nate always did great numbers.

Dana is such a vindictive bitch that at one point, he pulled Diaz from the rankings altogether after a win and 6 months inactivity.

Nate is trying to warn guys like Burns to stand up for themselves and know their worth because Dana White doesn't give a fuck about you. He cares about his shareholders. And thats it.

You nailed it, literally everything I was thinking.

Burns got paid a paltry 84k/show base to headline an ESPN card against the immediate former world champion. The media rights deal with ESPN alone is estimated at 350mm-500mm a year, and the UFC absolutely needed to run this card to meet those obligations.

He was only guaranteed his contractual 84k purse to headline a card on ESPN!

Nate all but surely respects Burns and his fellow fighters, he is warning everybody to stop bowing down and getting paid cents on the dollar to make guys worth hundreds of millions of dollars each get richer off your brain damage.

Burns would maul nate

and is going to beat usman

Love him or Hate him Nate is enigmatic as fuck, i'm all for his trash talking I don't think he means anything awful by it just being the harmless dickhead he always is it's how he shares his opinion, if it gets Usman being entertaining for once in his life then all good by me, and Burns will respond far too intensely and competiviely to not try and make that fight eventually..

I stupidly give Nate that similar pass I hate Conor for getting, he can come in do what the fuck he likes fuck off when he likes come back skip the rankings etc he's too endearing to me to care when it comes to him.. I know it can all be seen as smoke and mirrors WWE shit, but adding some twisted Nate context into the mix certainly makes it all more entertaining for me.

BurnsBros are the new gangstas on the block

maybe some fighters care more about being the best (something nate will never be) than money

I’m absolutely hilarious that people are still missing the point. Why is Diaz whose a journeyman mediocre fighter, making more money than the Chanp and challenger lmao? That’s all he’s saying and people immediately go to who’d win when we already know Usman and Burns kill him but they’ll both fight for Dana’s dinner table scraps and then try to complain later down the line when Dana already knows he can bitch them out and get them to sign whatever like he does with other weak willed fighters.

You're spot on, amigo.

It's a shame that MMA fans are this toxic towards warriors of Nate's caliber.

Tall poppy syndrome is real

Only when the UFC feels like paying him, which is why he barely fights.

Nate can only afford to take these long hiatuses because he agreed to fight Conor on short notice and was able to make a shitload of money off of the subsequent fights and endorsements outside of the cage.

Guys like Burns have never had paydays like that.

It's hypocritical as fuck for him to sit here taking shots at guys who've never made any real money for taking what opportunities are offered to them on short notice, which is exactly how Nate became a star.

When did Nate do “great” numbers before Conor?
for real lmao one of the biggest MMA myths ever

dude headlined like 2 fight night/ fox cards before Conor fight turned him into an actual decent draw.

Burns got the title shot because he accepted the lowest bid.
Very likely true but should he win the man suddenly will have leverage as champ to get an improved contract and will of course get PPV points. If Burns wins wonder if the UFC will do him a favor and put him on a decent PPV card afterwards or reward him some other way.

Tbf I don't think it's toxic to say Nate was simply in the right place at the right time and most if not all of his subsequent monetary success stems from him accepting a late notice fight. Good on him for making the most of his opportunities but I don't think Nate would have ever been even half the draw he became had he not fought Conor. In that sense it's a bit harsh for him to be potshotting people given it was luck more than anything that he got the Conor fight. If RDA hadn't got injured, and if either of Aldo or Edgar who were both offered the fight before Diaz accepted, it's not a giant leap of faith to claim Nate wouldn't be where he is.

I'm starting to really like Burns and I used to hate him.

But what kind of Brazilian last name is Burns?

It's a Scottish name, just like Gracie. Millions of Europeans immigrated to Brazil, just like the US. That's why Brazilians sometimes have American sounding names.
