Just wondering who here has started the program and what ar your initial thoughts on it?

"Had one of the craziest pumps I've ever had from the first workout, the high reps definitely put me out of my comfort zone, can already tell this program is gonna give me great gains!"
-Nate G.

"Did the Day 2 workout today because I like to lift legs on Wed. First time I have ever run a mile for time. I still have the endorphin buzz 5 hours later. Awesome leg workout! Thanks Joe, Jeff and John!!!!"
-Michael G.

Reader feedback & "BADASS" Q&A!

i saw the top 22 ways to be built like a badass and deadlift was like #12 :(

The name itself is irksome and it looks like there is way too much assistance work. An example after doing 3 sets of bench at relatively high intensity. You do 2 sets of burnout reps on DB bench. Then seated overhead rows, cable pushdowns, shrugs, and lateral raises all for 3-4x15 and then your finisher is a barbell complex of deadlifts, BORs, hang cleans, push press, and squats and 2 full sets of the complex using the same weight for each exercise.

A friend of mine is doing it, apparently as sort of a "deload". Will let you know how it turns out lol.

It's a shame that there doesn't appear to be much information on what the program actually entails. What is there seems to be nothing more than an ad for a $47 ebook. For that price I'd want an actual book.

That being said, if someone has information on what the program actually entails I"d be interested.

I can see if I can get some more details about it from my friend. It's strange because he has been following a program that is very similar to Westside up until now, and has seen big gains in strength. As I said though he is supposedly doing the "Badass" program as sort of a get in better shape overall/give his body a rest while still continuing to get stronger, albeit at a much slower pace.

I read the e-book and have to say it's Defranco's worst product yet. He gives out better info for free online than what's included in this book. It's basically just a cookie-cutter program that targets a very specific crowd.

IMO this book is for you IF:
- You're either at an intermediate stage of strength training, or were once an advanced athlete who has taken some time off.

- You want to work on strength and conditioning but have no desire to do any speed training.

- Your main goals are to improve your: Deadlift OR Squat (you pick only one and do it for 12 weeks while ignoring the other), Bench, BW Chinups, and mile run time.

- You don't have the time or knowledge to take all of the free info on Defrancotraining.com and put together your own program.

The Built-like-a-Badass program is basically the same as the Washed Up Meatheads program found in WSFSB3, except the vanity day is gone, the max effort exercises are replaced with rep outs at a given % (similar to 5-3-1), a planned deload is included, and each day is finished with a "finisher".

He probably got a lot of mails of people wanting to get ripped and saying that they were not skinny bastards, so he came up with a way to make money.

The more products he comes out with, the worse his blog gets. Actually it was 10x better when it wasn't in Blog format, I rarely read it anymore.

WS4SB is better, and offers more options. The way I see it, BLAB is more for a beginner weightlifter since it outlines EVERYTHING, leaving very few choices to the trainee. It is also outrageously overpriced, seeing as it is VERY similar to WS4SB which is available free.

Ahahaha I just now realized how hilarious the acronym for Built Like A Badass was as I read this post in my head.
