Buffets

Not sure it's worth almost $100 but this is my states famous Nordic Lodge
 
Is @ga_ninja still around? Dude loved buffets so much there'd be children crying and shit
 
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a really good buffet. I’ve been to some pretty good breakfast/brunch buffets, it’s the only reason to book 5 star hotels really, but I haven’t gone out of my way to eat at one since I was a teenager. That was a Chinese buffet where the food was bad but I was stoned and ate far too much of it.
 
The bad thing about chain and budget buffets is the people. Went to Chuck-A-Rama (think Golden Coral if youve never heard of it) with some buddies for dinner one evening. Was sitting next to a family with half a dozen kids. The gross mom grabbed one of her kids by the waste band and proceeded to check his diaper to see if he shit himself. Then god knows how many times she went back to get food without washing her hands. On top of the peoples grubby kids grabbing things with their hands.
 
Very difficult to beat a good Indian food buffet:
- tandoori chicken
- goat/chicken bariyani
- sauces/curries on the rice
-- naan
-- fried stuff

Buffets are for plebes. If I am paying to eat out I want to be served by a waiter, not stand in line like common folk.

Plus all the gross people touching stuff I have to touch... Ugh

The Mediterranean one I go to ain't cheap, $14 not including drink! $16.50 on weekend and holidays, keeps the riff-raff in check.

They need guards to stop people from crosscontaminating their unknown animal virus on the food.
 
in my neck of the woods theres a place called Hibachi Grill and Buffet. its 15 bucks and while 90 percent of it is fried garbage, the beef ribs are very good and I'd go there just for those. The broccoli and beef is good too, as well as asparagus and veggies. Otherwise its mostly fried stuff and poor quality meat
 
I know they're a rip-off (especially since I'm not a kid working out for hours a day anymore) but I love them. Reminds me of college where I just swiped a card to enter the dining hall and it was game on!
 
Buffets creep me the fuck out. I won’t eat at a buffet.
 
Typically no, the thought of having a bunch of People hovering, breathing and talking/prolly spitting shit on my food isn’t one that stimulates my appetite.
 
You get what you pay for.
There are levels to this:
1: High dollar/nice casino/good sushi
2: Chinese/Hot Pot/Mongolian Grill/Pizza where you know the quality of what you're getting but it's what you would pay for anyway for a filling meal
3: Golden Corral and it's clones. Low cost/low quality food troughs
