Buckleys gonna spark Usman right?

Not saying he'll outwrestle Buckley but quickness and athleticsm isn't defense against great wrestling. I don't have to show you all the old guys who took down and controlled younger opponents.
Buckley handled Colby

Buckley is an uppity native going after the tribal Chief.

Looking forward to seeing if he's up to the task.

Oh no, I get what you're saying & I totally agree with you. But with Usman knees shot there's no way he'll be able to use mobility to his advantage. There's no doubt if Usman gets Buck down that he'd be able to control the fight, but what I do doubt is that he'll be able to get Buck down to the ground with ease.

Don't forget it's not just hands , Buckley could mortal kombat him too.

Yeah im certain of it now. It's coming to me.

Buckley stops Usman with his hands.

Usman is putting on his wrestling shoes tonight. Gonna be a long night for Buck. But it's fighting anything can happen which is why I'm watching
When is the last time Usman won a fight by offensive wrestling? Maybe Masvidal when he held him against the cage for 5 rounds? No one knows how bad Usman's knees are, but the last time he won a fight mostly with TDs and ground control may have been vs. Woodley in 2019.

I don't think "wall-n-stall" will work against Buckley like it did vs. Masvidal years ago. Usman may be able to do do that for limited times, but not the entire fight.
  • Masvidal was a former LW. Buckley, while much shorter than Usman, is a former MW who's also very strong
  • Usman is much older now (38) and that kind of approach can be tiring against a younger, strong opponent

So we are left with how they are standing up. My thinking is that it favors Woodley at this point

For all the people bringing up the Khamzat fight, remember Burns also went to a decision with Khamzat and gave him a tough challenge. Burns is the same age as Usman (38) and is on a 4-loss streak. His last win was against an even older Masvidal.

Usman can probably drag this to a decision. But man that last rematch with Leon he had such low output. Even with Khamzat.

If he knows his wrestling is gone for sure, his best chance is to just trade and go for KO. Buckley has way better TDD than Leon.

What's up with the "so and so is gonna run through so and so, right" threads

That's my guess. Though I think you mean Buckley. Woodley was last scene getting KO'd by Jake Paul or in a rap video or something.

I have my doubts about Usman being able to outstrike someone like Buckley (the way he's looked recently) in a fight that goes the distance. Colby and Usman both had very good cardio and chins (and not great technical striking) when they had those 5-round wars years ago. Colby has definitely declined...and looks like he doesn't even want to fight these days. Like you said, Usman doesn't seem to have that output any more, either.

I see Usman having a small puncher's chance (KO power is the last thing to go) and an even smaller chance winning by a lot of wall-n-stall. That's it. I think Buckley wins either a prolonged striking war or a brawl where they trade until someone is KO'd.

Why are people forgetting Buckley stuffed Colby?
