Media Bryce Mitchell KO Kron Gracie GIFS

Gracies or BJJ crossovers in general need to go find Demian Maia to train them from now on. He's the only one that has made it work at a high level in the modern era as a specialist. Even Oliveira and Werdum had to develop dangerous striking before they became elite.

He honestly deserved another one...dude ran his last name through the mud infront of millions...

Makes absolutely no sense how he competed last night...

I'm dumbfounded the commentators didn't immediately pick up how stunned Kron was from the slam. Even upon multiple reviews they're like "and there's the elbow"

Bro the fucking SLAM

“I don’t believe in pulling guard.” - Bryce Mitchell

Embarrassing.

Agreed.

Any man who "pulls guard" deserves to be brutally KO'd.

So sick of "Gracie jiu-jitsu" fear of fighting.

Grappling and submissions are fine ... as long as they're attempted aggressively and dominantly ... but this passive bullshit has got to go.

Kron is still living in a Rorion Gracie video, circa 1993, UFC I mentality.

I don't know what is my favorite fight of the night ... this finish ... Anthony Smith's humiliation ... or Pantoja's superb showing.

I suppose it was Pantoja's because I was worried he might be bested ... and he showed up.

The others I knew would lose 100%

Why do people keep saying that Kron pulled guard on that fight-ending slam? To pull guard you have to actually pull. In that sequence Kron did a flying leap into a bear hug and in no way tried to actually pull the position to the ground; that's why Mitchell was able to slam him so hard and so easily.

I've always considered leaping into another man and wrapping my legs around his waist, hoping he'd fall to the ground with me....the ultimate, most masculine fight move.

Is the flat earth the best base for MMA? Bc Mitchell flattened Kron.
If Earth was really round ( not flat ) - wouldn't Kron still be spinning from Bryce's slam & elbow's rotational forces?

That was hard to see. That Gracie got slammed then head to the shadow realm quick

He was already concussed as soon as they hit the ground, can see his arms aren't doing what they should do. That's because when you slam someone normally they tuck their head in a bit so they don't bounce their head off the ground, but when you wedge a forearm on their neck the head hits the ground and the brain has nowhere to go but bounce off the skull aka a concussion, the elbow just put him all the way out.
Slampage 101

Now I’m no BJJ black belt but even I know that if you’re gonna pull guard you gotta be looking to sweep or sub immediately. Dude pulled guard over and over with the “hold on for dear life” strategy and eventually it backfired badly.

The fact that Rickson Gracie's son just got KTFO on the ground after pulling guard standing up, because he got no striking or takedowns - is one of the most humiliating and ironic moments in the history of modern BJJ in MMA.
All the more telling because its not even a big deal anymore.

Rickson said many years ago in an interview (it’s online) that he would never encourage his son to go into MMA.

He said it’s very explosive, athletic, with short rounds and as such rewards a completely different skill set than traditional BJJ. Vale Tudo had no weight classes, no rules, no time limit so it required safety first, patience, etc. which is totally different game.

I think he also blasted modern BJJ in that same interview for having nothing to do with fighting.
