yeah, I lost my ear for hiphop around 2010, In my humble opinion lil wayne poisoned the well.

Just gotta dig deeper. There was a lot of good stuff that decade. Most popular music sucks.

funny thing is i’m not even an “ oldhead “, im not even 30 yet.

“ hip hop “ if you even wanna call it that anymore is absolute fucking DOGSHIT now and has been for awhile and its only gonna get worse.
Facts, the genre can't be defined as the same thing. it should be called something else.

Hip hop is going through what rock and roll went through in the 80's and 90's

hip hop hasnt been good since the 90’s and thats an indisputable fact, it is not arguable, outside of some 90’s groups that kept going til the early 2000’s.

in before some cringy ass gen Z dorks who listen to absolute trash @ me.
Hip-hop died with the crack era. Immortal Technique Revolutionary Vol. 2 is the last hip hop album I remember being excited about and that was 2003.

This is true, but there's still some good ones currently. Just different flows now and they are less lyrical because they all try to flow in a melody or do autotune style rap songs. 90s rappers were all about metaphors/punch-lines/lyrics.
And there were multiple verses with stories

now it’s mumbling , auto tune, and just rinse and repeat sentences.

True for the most part. There's still some good new rappers, there's just a lot more of the Island Boys style that makes them a bit harder to find. Rap will continue to evolve and it seems like a lot of new rappers are also getting tired of current state of hip-hop/rap and they are going back to rapping bars like the older generation rappers. Cordae is one of the newer mainstream rappers besides Joyner Lucas that can spit. A lot more are coming out rapping like past generation rappers.
