Bruce Willis Vs. Denzel Washington

Who do you prefer? Who do you think is better?

I love both of these guys, to me they're both legends of cinema. And I find them very comparable. They're both damn good actors, they both have done a wide range of roles. They're both known for their certain personality and charm that they bring to the screen. These aren't chameleon actors, they're not the type of actors who get lost in becoming a role, or who change themselves dramatically for a specific character. Instead, they are the character. They're the type of actors who movie makers have in mind when writing a role. And it's because people love the charm they bring to a movie, it's something very difficult to replicate.

Anyways, enough nut hugging, who do you like better? I made a quick graph of their actor stats, and where I think each fall in those categories. It's just my personal opinion on the two...



As far as how to choose between the two, it's totally up to you. You can analyze everything from their skills, to their career, and make an educated decision... or you can simply pick one of them because they made one specific badass movie that simply can't be touched.

Bruce might have some of the better movies but Denzel can make a horrible movie good just with his acting.

Denzel and it’s not even close. Willis has been in like maybe 4 movies where I can’t imagine a different actor in the role. And he’s been in a lot of movies where he just sucked. Denzel has never sucked and has been in the better movies.

If you want to compare 1985-2000 or so, then there's something to talk about. But Denzel had another 20 great years and Bruce just withered away. A long time ago, arguably 20 years ago.

Career Length should not be a tie on that graph. Bruce gets almost no credit for the last 10 years.

He gave an amazing performance in Fences. Good movie too.

But it doesn't erase his badass career. Russell Crowe, who is just as good an actor, and in my opinion, better than Denzel, is also in a slump. Have you seen the trailer for his new movie Unhinged, it's pretty crap. But he still made Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind (and others).

Every actor and actress falls off at some point. To not understand that, and to just go an say someone "sucks" because of it, is bullshit.

Bruce has the best movie overall with Die Hard, and he can arguably have the better catalog of movies which I don't think he does. He's still not in the same universe as Denzel when it comes to acting.
