Bruce makes it into a spectacle which is fun, Martinez just sounds boring and the type of guy you would expect to announce in a smaller org. Never understood why anyone would prefer the type of announcer that Martinez is versus Buffer and crazy Pride lady. MMA may be a sport (sort of), but it’s first and foremost entertainment.

I do think nowadays most people just mute the announcer or use that time to eat something etc. I dont know anyone who enjoys that anymore.
Imo what irritates people about Buffer is that he is an insecure creep out of the cage and well sometimes inside. As an announcer its ok how he does it if you like that stuff.

His brother really had something back then. I did enjoy listening to him with big boxing fights.

I'm not British. I'm American, and have lived in Central America and the CA/Mexico border as well..... that's how *lame*, car-salesmen-sounding latinos speak. And my problem isn't his accent (or even your snobbish miss at me), it's his over-pronunciation and cheese-level. Sorry you have a problem with my opinion on this matter. Glad you like the cheese, it must make watching TV and bad announcers much easier.

I never thought he was great to begin with. The guy has energy sure, but when he tries over exerting his voice it just dosen't sound good. He's certainly not nearly as good as his brother. I get why people like him, but i've heard plenty who I think do it better.
