Bring Helwani back to UFC on FOX

I think he's bigger than a UFC journalist and he should spread his wings a bit more and not settle. He has the best interviews and always seems to be first with the scoop. Best of all he seems respected and not a parasite like most journalists.

I didn't think of it that way, that's a good point.

Why confine yourself to one company when he has the 'Helwani' brand now. He has a following and doesn't need the UFC. If anything the UFC need him to continue with the good journalism (hair question aside), video interviews, etc. My man Helwani has the hook ups.

Clever given that the UFC doesn't seem too loyal and he has a family to think about.

Let's see a POLL.

He's clearly the only one who puts thought into coming up with good questions (McG hairdo was to get him to talk about his mindset of being hungry and it was someone else's claim that's what it was). Many post-fight press conf had pure shit questions. You'd think UFC bigwigs would want smarter questions asked in press conferences.

Who said Ariel will stop covering Ufc? He will still be at the shows and press conference, just not on FOX.

Chill out

Helwanis extended interviews with Bisping, Jones, Rampage, Diaz etc. are easily the best in the MMA world.

He has a genuine love of the sport and is far more knowledgeable on it than most other journalists, this coupled with his ability to build a rapport with the fighters so they feel comfortable enough to show their true personalities and give honest answers makes him an extremely rare and valuable asset to the community.

I hope he doesn't have any difficulty covering any events in the future or find fighters being told not to deal with him by the company.

If everythings fine leaving Fox could mean more freedom in his reporting, less constraints on topics he can discuss with fighters and more time to work on one on one extended pieces with fighters.

Hopefully that's the case, as it would be a shame to see a guy who has given us so much material over the years added to the list of journalists no longer welcome at the UFC for doing their job.

I'm happy Kenny Florian didn't get fired but if he wasn't let go I don't see why Fox couldn't cut Ariel some slack.

I know half of the responses will be dripping with hate haha but that's the appeal of Helwani, love him or hate him the guy is interesting and an excellent MMA journalist, I expect this to do little to rectify him being let go but at the very least it'll show the guy some love.

I like watching him Hes very up on current situation an asks the questions I wanna know . I respect his passion for the sport

Regardless of whether he was fired or quit, it does seem like the UFC/Dana have some issue with him and mmafighting.com. Rory (and Jeff Wagenheim) put out tweets implying that the split was due to something he said -possib;y talking about fighter pay and testing free agency.
