Trudeau's cautious approach to this condemnation, tells me that it likely came from a lab. If he could refute it outright, he would.

Not that it changes much. Wet markets or lab, it still comes down to China being irresponsible and dangerously secretive and corrupt.

WASHINGTON — The top U.S. spy agency said for the first time on Thursday that the nation’s collective intelligence community does not believe that the coronavirus was manmade or genetically modified.

“The Intelligence Community also concurs with the wide scientific consensus that the COVID-19 virus was not manmade or genetically modified,” the Office of Director of National Intelligence said in a rare statement.

“The IC will continue to rigorously examine emerging information and intelligence to determine whether the outbreak began through contact with infected animals or if it was the result of an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan,” it added.

There is nothing in that interview that leaves me believing they have evidence it's a bio/lab weapon.

Right. But there was also nothing in the comment you were replying to that leads me to believe he was suggesting it was a bioweapon. I don't think it is a widespread notion that China intended to release the virus.

It would make no sense. China's economy relies heavily on exports. The virus came from a dirty Chinese market and China's responsibility is not affected by that fact. They should own up to their mistakes and compensate the world for stacking bats and pengolins in the same area.

Trump seems to bet the farm on the lab theory. If he turns out to be wrong it might hurt his credibility. I don't want that to happen. Market or lab China's 100% guilty. PAY UP China! You let your citizens fly abroad when human-to human transmission was a known fact!

Trump being wrong doesn't usually hurt his credibility, so I don't think it would matter all that much this time, especially in terms of re-election. Although, I don't think he is wrong. There's certainly a lot more circumstantial evidence to pointt to a lab leak than the wet market being the source, and the intelligence community 'allegedly' has more than just circumstantial evidence.
There's no way China will pay any compensation, I think it's more about them not wanting to 'lose face' rather than just the economic impact. They would rather go to war than admit they are in the wrong. They are playing the race card and rollng out their Internet trolls for a disinformation campaign.
The best thing the rest of the world can do is reduce their reliance on Chinese exports and re-invest in manufacturing in their own countries and other developing countries that are more reliable and transparent.

Ask yourself this, about one of the main talking points this administration is making about China. Would the US allow China into our labs if a virus was released on accident? Would the US allow China, or any foreign government to come in and “help” with the virus?

No we would not so I feel Pompeo is offering up a fallacy so the least informed will gobble it up.

Have you not learned a thing about Trump? You’ve got MAGA in your username and get you are clueless. Trumps biggest adviser is his gut. This is the same man that said he knows more than the Generals. Trump has claimed time and time again that he doesn’t need SME. Your ignorance here is not all that shocking.
LOL, “MAGA in your user name”. I’m from Georgia, and I love MMA, you buffoon!

lol at Incompetent Don having any clue what evidence is

That article was embarrassingly weak, vague and inconclusive. You should be embarrassed.

The 2 places are frickin' 1,000 feet apart. Earth is 135,000,000 feet in circumference. This whole argument is so fucking stupid... Who gives a shit. If you put a pin on a globe, you're stabbing the market and the lab. What's the fucking difference?

But ok... it was the market right? How many of those markets in China? Ok now how many labs in China studying coronaviruses? Hmm.

Fuck this is stupid. Of course it came from the lab. Either that, or this is the biggest coincidence in history. Nah it didn't come from the lab, it came from 2 blocks away. Ok?

Not ok. This is like having meth in the passenger seat and saying it fell out of your mom's pocket or some shit. Gimme a fucking break.

Lab or wet market, it came from Chy-Na. Fuck the CCP

Not sure I’m following you but it seems like you’re asking us to consider what we would do if we released a virus - which of course is a rhetorical question and you assume we would just lie about it. For the sake of discussion let’s grant that assumption. What then are you supposing that should tell us about China?

Update:

https://amp.smh.com.au/politics/fed...s-wuhan-lab-virus-claim-20200504-p54pk3.html?

Australian paper The Sunday Morning Herald, is reporting that Australian intelligence agencies have NOT seen evidence the virus came from the lab. The paper goes on to say that its sources in the intel agency claim the dossier is using mostly open source information and not intel gathering.

So I guesss it back to 50/50 then. Could be the market or one of the 2 labs. What is odd is that everyone is only talking about the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and ignoring the other lab in Wuhan, the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
