As per Santos on top of that on his campaign website, Santos stated that his mother “was in her office in the South Tower” of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, when the terrorist attacks occurred, Immigration/visa records obtained by media outlets show that Santos’s mother, Fatima Devolder, applied in February 2003 for an immigrant visa from Brazil and stated that she had not been in the United States since June 1999. This means that according to her own visa application, she was not present in the U.S. on September 11, 2001. As someone who is from Long Island, NY was in 12th grade when 9/11 happened, and lost some family friends in both towers what Santos said and continued to lie about is unforgivable.

Any other President would have not commuted his sentence at all.
