So did the Daily News talk to the friend or the source because the body of the article makes it seem like the DN talked to the first-hand source but that sentence makes it less clear.

So they are just ripping stories off of other sites (ESPN in this case) without any of their own fact checking, even thought they have no way of knowing who she is or if she actually has any connection to Ronaiah Tuiasosopo. Wonderful job learning.
