News BREAKING: Jamahal Hill injured (ruptured achilles), relinquishes LHW title

Making Jan - Alex a title fight would mean either making it a main event for 291 or scrapping it from this card. Both decisions are quite damaging for this card appeal. I say keep things as is, and quickly book something like Ankalaev Walker for the winner to fight Jan Alex winner for the title unless Jiri recovers to fight Jan-Alex winner

Much respect for Hill for doing this. His injury is awful though and I hope it recovers with very little lasting effects. LHW on the other hand is so fucked right now. I wonder what they will do to remedy this. Jan vs Alex seems to make the most sense if they want something immediate but Alex is coming off a loss so it wouldn't really be fair.

Pretty hilarious how Jan might find himself in another vacant title fight.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Jiri injury cause Jan's fight to be bumped up to main card vs Ankalaev with the title on the line like same week as the fight was happening? lol

LHW is miserable. Just merge it with HW, and we might get a regular schedule of halfway decent big men fights.
I've been saying that for a decade. All LHWs cut to 205/206. Most MWs cut from over 205. Last underweight LHW I remember is Machida coming in at 202.
My calling was actually WW, then HW.
Since most MWs step into the cage at over 205.
Go big or go home.

How the fuck is a 215 shredded lifelong athlete not a heavyweight?
These guys now cut to MW ffs.

This saddens me. The guy got an opportunity to win the belt due to some unusual circumstances, capitalized on the chance, and became the champ. His championship victory was a great story. It would have been cool to see him defend the belt. Now, I guess the real question is whether he can work his way back into contention. While it would be cool to see him heal up and get a crack at the belt he never lost, there are a whole host of variables to title contention and there are no guarantees.

The good news is he should be getting a title shot or at the very least a title elim when he comes back.

The bad news is he might not be the same. Remember hoping Santos was bouncing back to that insane LHW form he had before the injury. It just didn't happen.
